I'm in a real mess any help would be great. I'm in a lot of debt i've got a loan of 7000 and 2 credit cards with 7000 on each, my overdraft is 1500 but i'm over that so i'm getting charged 150 each month. In fact if i could get my charges back they owe me about 3 grand. If i could get a consolidation loan i could make the monthly payment but i can't get a loan high enough so i'm just getting in more and more debt. Please help i can't eat i can't sleep... This is going to be the death of me, i.m only 28 and i feel like my life is not worth living anymore. |

The C.A.B may help you reclaim some charges what you have to do is close the account , see the Bank Manager .. surely then the debt to the bank will be a Final one and you can agree repayments on a manageable scale... the C.A.B would only go through the same motions ... ok so the Bank will have won (in effect) the game is over and you can dust yourself down from the pressures of banging your head against a brick wall ... (figuratively speaking..) you can do it yourself but the C.A.B would take a more professional approach that's all. Bank managers are there to help, whether your in the red or the black.
What you don't want, and everyone will tell you this .. is another loan to pay a loan... that's just tying the knot y'know ?
See the Man ... stop the account .. and begin to slowly regain your sanity. Once you agree a repayment plan you'll feel the huge weight lift almost immediately, you'll see. Dont go making O.T.T unrealistic offers ..and you'll be OK.
And hey .. we wanna see you back here breathing a sigh of relief .. and sporting a smile. You can do it. |

Your in to deep to consolidate .
Open a new bank account (no overdaft!)
Cut up the cards , write to your creditors telling them that you cannot meet your monthly payments and offer to pay them a reduced amount ,
most will make a song a dance about it and threaten court , they wouldn't dare take you to court because the law says they have to accept your offer so don't back down .
Be sure that you set a monthly repayment plan well within your budget , don't worry about how long it'll take to pay off .
Stop using your present bank and write to them stating , as you are aware recent changes in the law mean i am entitled to claim back all bank charges , i would be grateful if you would calculate the full amount owing , deduct from it my present overdraft balance and reimberse me the difference , thus removing the inconvienience of seeking legal advice .
It should take about 2 months to get your money back .
Some credit cards will still charge interest and you must stop that interest accumulating so maybe thats what you should spend your repaid bank charges on .
That takes the pressure off then you can start working out how to pay it off .
Your 28 , I was 37 when i hit rock bottom , it took me 5 years to pull myself out of the pit but i did and i'm so proud of myself now it's unbelievable , i even managed to get a mortgage and buy a house so don't give up .
Think of it as a job , if your not up to it citizens advice are able to help you .

look It must really be a mental torment to you .I am sure you are depressed because of this and it is the only thing you can think about . The depression will make it harder for you to think straight about it , you need someone to advise you and give you help. Someone who is independant and can tackle the problem without all the emotional upset,
I think the CAB are the right people to contact . they can put you in touch with a debt advisor who will give the answers to deal with this problem. Dont delay any more you have got to go out and do this tomorrow.
Believe me it is the end of the world to you but reall the amount you are talking about is not substantial and will be sorted out reasonably easy.
With some good FREE advice you will get through this ! |

Contact the CAB for advice, do NOT use a Debt Management company as they will just rip you off with charges, whereas the CAB will help you negotiate with the companies involved for free. |

If you're in the UK - go to the CAB they have a debt advice centre linked to them. They will contact all the people you owe money too and will get you back on track.

I would suggest negotiating with your creditors to see if you can reach an agreement. Try changing jobs and making more money. If that is not possible, try getting a part time job to make extra payments for the next little while. If you're able to bring extra money in, and make higher payments, your creditors may consider giving you a better deal.
If nothing works, I would suggest considering filing for bankruptcy.
Also, remember, debt should not be a reason for you to give up on life! Everything can be fixed, it may not be easy, but it definitely can be fixed. |

you can get a consolidation loan but it would be from someone who takes over all ur debts, negotiates a lower payment and you pay them back each month. you wont be able to borrow for aboout 5 yrs after the consolidation thing tho.
