Did u have it easy or did ur parents make u pay your own way?
I had it good until I reach the age of 18 she said I had to buy my own personal things. At 20 I had to REALLY help out with buying food, things to clean the hosue and give her money for rent

Your parent is teaching you responsibilty. A hard lesson for some to learn. You will appreciate her for it later in life!

I was very lucky and never had to contribute any monies toward keeping the household running right through college. Now mom is working part-time, and dad's retired, and I am still single and make more wages than I can spend, so I help them out by having some of their monthly bills sent directly to me, like the electric and heating bills. They are on a fixed income and went without to assist me in my schooling, now I feel its my turn for I know it won't be for long and my inner self will feel a lot better by assisting them what I can. So, no, I don't think assisting your mother in a few of the bills will hurt you that much, or for very long. Compare what it would cost where you reside for a decent apartment, all the utility bills, and food to eat. Its a lot more than you give mom, by far.

My girls are 15 and 17 and buy their own personal things. Heck at this point, they have more spending money than I do. Sometimes that really bites. Fortunately, my girls like buying their own stuff, because they realize that this means they get to buy what THEY like (they both like different brands of shampoo, etc).
I think it is very reasonable to help out when you are old enough. At 14, I did what you are doing at 20. Because my parents had it hard, I was so happy to be able to do this!

I had it very easy.... even at 23 if I spend my whole paycheck on clothes, my parents pay my $400 car note... don't cha just love them!!!!

We had nothing so my parents didn't make me pay for anything. Now I have my own job and life and am self sufficient and still don't ask my parents for money. So you could say I have it easy now because I don't have to rely on others for handouts, but yet I know what it means to work.

I voluntarily left my house when I was 18, it was ROUGH. As you get older you realize how selfish you are, cleaning, and paying rent to your parents should be things you want to do and make you feel good for doing it. I am 27 and I wished I would have stayed home. Looking back cleaning my room and doing dishes doesn't compare to working full-time to pay rent and bills and hope to have something left over to buy food too.My advice is stay with your parents and finish school, I sound like a parent.

i guess you would say that i had it or have it easy im the baby of the family so i was and still very spoiled my mom does way more for me than the average parent would do for their 26 yr old child who has 2 kids of her own and i do not have to ask my mom for anything i very self sufficent with my own job and everything but mommy always helps out i love her

Im not at that age yet, but if she supported u for 17 years, a couple years helping her wont kill you.

my parents make it easy for me, not only putting a roof over my head, clothes and food and entertainment..i am also able to live on my own from what my parents have taught me.
