Do I have to wait 2 yrs to buy a new phone from the same company?
my family's plan is verizon wireless, and i got my phone last october. i want to buy a new blackberry (verizon) can i just get it or do i have to wait till next october?

Yomama
If you wait until your contract expires, you'll get a big discount, but you can go to the Verizon store and ask for an upgrade(trade in), or you can buy it for full price and keep the phone you have now.

You'll be able to buy one...but at full price. You won't get it as cheap as you would when your family first signed up for the contract.

no, go trade in your phone and get a new one. they'll want you to extend your plan for two years

Chris S
im pretty sure its called an upgrade you just pay the difference

Joseph H
No you don't have to wait but you will have to pay full price for it. The new blackberry full price i believe is $500.

No you can always get a new phone.
It just cost more then if you waited your two years!

no but you get a discount if you wait

ask ally
yes most companies have a 2 year warrantie.

well since you're apparently ur under a 2 yr contract. WHich means the phone you have now lasts 2 years till phones become optional to upgrade for free. To get a blackberry would be violating your contract, which means you must pay a fine, restart the contract, and such.

Katie
You can buy a new one whenever you want. But sadly, if it doesn't come with a new plan, you have to pay full retail price for it. I think it's about $500. :(

dman
no u should be able to get an upgrade in 18 months

chenis1
You can get it. You will have to make them activate it though, and you won't get the 2yr contract discount price. and yea

no, you can get it now and switch over, you just wont be elligable to get the phone discounts/free phone or whatever they offer to new customers or those renewing. In other words yes, you can, but you will have to pay full price for the phone

Tay tay hottie
no you dont have to wait you can go to any store but just not the head store and you will have 2 bye it for full price

You can buy a phone whenever you like. They want your money. How about asking them?

Sarah B
contact Verizon and ask them if your phone is available for an upgrade. I just called my carrier yesterday (sprint) and they told me I was able to get $150 off of a phone. I had also received a web deal for a free phone with existing contract or new contract. Was great. My new phone should arrive this week or next.

break it

Tai ji
No, I believe you can buy a new phone, and just switch the sim cards. Sometimes, if you renew your contract, i think they give you a discount on phones.
hope this helps~

Sami
You can get it. You will have to make them activate it though, and you won't get the 2yr contract discount price.
