most definately.I pray that God will get me through the hard times, not knowing myself how i will cope, seriously. I sincerely put myself in Gods guidance, and he allways provides. The trick is not to dictate how you want the prayer to go, but to put your faith in the Lord, in that he will get you through any outcome no matter how difficult.Life will allways throw eventualities at us and they are unpreventable. But with Gods help its easier to get through them. |

Prayer does work. There have been *scientific* studies that prove that people are positively affected by prayer, even when they didn't know they were being prayed for.
Ultimately, prayer is not a magical cure-all that works 100% of the time. Prayer can be as effective as medical treatment - which is to say that it works more often than not, but not necessarily always, or even to the exact, desired effect.
For religious/spiritual people, it is also a tool used to communicate with God and find guidance in life. In those instances, a definitive yes/no answer or black/white outcome is not always the desired effect, and judging its efficacy becomes difficult.
Prayer works for those who believe in it, and can work for those who don't, depending on the manner in which it's employed and the desired effect.
I, personally, find prayer invaluable, and would even recommend it to those who don't have a relationship with God and/or aren't religious/spiritual. It's a wonderful thing.
By the way, I've run into several sites and seen multiple documents of various studies attesting to the the statistical efficacy of prayer, but I'm too lazy to search right now, so here's only one example: |

I think that prayer works for religious people - and I think that hope works for non-religious people.
I believe that it's all in the head - if you have sincere faith in your hope/prayer, then you have an optimism in the back of your head to encourage you.
It's a placebo, that's what it is. |

I think it does. For instance, my husband and I were fighting about paying our babysitter for the time she wasn't there. He didn't want to, but I know her rules and knew it was the right thing to do. So I prayed that God would show him the right thing to do, and next thing I knew I was getting a phone call from him saying that he wanted me to pay her when I picked up the baby. |

Yes.
I prayed for hope since I was at a very bad time. My response was a wind ruffled page in a magazine and my lamp highlighted these words No Fear... Then I connected that with a memory of Bible School way back when I was a kid
"Fear Not for the Lord Thy God is with Thee..." |

Yes, prayer work I asked the Lord to bless my son with a job,because I am very sick and can not work right now.He went every where looking for a job and did not receive a response for anybody. One night we was sitting there and the phone rung a lady told him to come and start to work the next day.He haven't put in an application at that company, But the Lord put it on his heart to listen to someone that knew my son. God is good all the time. |
