Do i have to wear a skirt for work if it is not provided by the company?

If the dress code requires you to wear a skirt, then there needs to be a bona fide occupational job qualification that requires your wearing a skirt to be effective in your job. If there is not one, then your employer is breaking the law by requiring you to wear a skirt.

PS. Clothes you wear to work are not a tax deduction. Check with your tax consultant.

chyrelanne
That depends on if it was a part of a dress code that you agreed to when accepting the job.

Whatever your company dree code dictates, that is what you must wear, if you want to keep working there.

Yes

Check the company's policy for dress code, if it is not stated, then you don't have to.

If it's the dress code, yes. Keep your reciept and you can write it off as a tax offset under work expenses at the end of the financial year. Maybe speak to your head office and ask them if they have a company logo that you can have embroidered onto it, then you should be able to claim it.( check with the tax office first though) ( in response to the message you sent me:))

Only if it's specified in the dress code, otherwise you don't, but you still have to wear appropriate slacks or pants in the dress code colours.

If the company that you work for has a required dress code, then you must follow it, no matter what the expense to you, so long as it is company wide, and clearly stated in their policy.

icprofit2000
Only if everyone does. Do all the guys wear them?

if it is the company dress code, yes. otherwise, no.

Companies have dress codes, but that doesn't mean they have to provide you with the clothes for it. If you work somewhere where there is a uniform, then the company will provide, otherwise if it simply insists on women wearing skirts to work, you have to buy the skirts.
