I don't make a living at it, but I make a little extra each month just from used stuff of mine around the house that I don't want anymore.
The people that do make a living at it join up with companies that give them items to sell - you get the item for a certain price and then sell it for more on Ebay. You give the company their price and you keep the difference. I think it's mostly electronics and wholesale stuff. |

yes but you actually really have to work. In most cases you have to work more than the average employee. It is a business- just without a store front.
And the competition is FIERCE. You have to be tough and constantly spy on your competition. You have to understand the market, and keep track of everything. You are a salesperson, a marketer, an advertiser and an accountant, all in one.
There are trade magazines built all around this, as well as how-to books. |

You have to remember that ebay is like a giant yard sale, everyone is looking for a steal! To do well on ebay you have to have a way to get your merchandise extremely cheap and in large quatities, make sure your shipping costs are fair (to you and to the customer), and make sure that your listing look nice. Adequate clear pictures, complete description, product details etc. First impressions are key! With thousands of listings, you want yours to stand out, so don't go with "good enough", make sure you take some time and make it look good! Good luck! |

It is quite possible to make a decent living off eBay, but you have to know what you're doing. There are no quick and easy shortcuts, or everyone would be making a fortune on eBay.
You need to (1) chose a product that is in demand, (2) know your product extremely well, (3) have a source to purchase that product at a very good price, (4) know the marketplace for your product, (5) know where you can fit into that market, and (6) be able to sell your product at a competitive price on eBay, yet (7) still assure yourself of an adequate profit for your effort.
It's not easy to get started, as you can see, but if you get all the pieces to fit properly, it can be very lucrative |

yes actually they do. What they do is get a loan and order big quanitys of products from the manufacturer like mp3 players or glass poodles and sell it on ebay. i'v heard you can make a ton of mony that way. or even go to the "99cents store" or "mega liquadation" and find thing that would normally be worth more and sell them on ebay. it takes a while to get started though and actually make money. its a really good "on the side" buisness though. so dont quit your job quite yet... |
