Googlypants | Do stamps expire? |
Say someone had a quids worth of stamps they found in a draw that, although they were say 25 years old, had never been used. Does the face value still hold?
Admittedly the stamps would have devalued over time and that quid wouldn't cover as much postage as when they were bought new, but does the post office still honour the 1 pound face value?

Stamps do not expire unless they are cancelled by the post master.
However, before I use an old stamp, I would ensure it is not more valuable than the face value it was issued at. |

As long as they dont have the value of the stamp printed on the face of the stamp you are ok. If it does have the value on, you need to buy penny stamps on top |

No they're still OK. Some of the discontinued colours are now worth more than their face value - it's worth checking on eBay.
You can't use pre-decimal ones, but they're probably now worth more to a collector. |

No, they are still valid. Some people buy up old collections of mint stamps cheaply, and then use them to post greetings cards and the like with unusual stamps. |

I have some from about 8 Christmases ago. As they only say second on them and not a value, I am slowly using them up on anything which needs a stamp |
