Nope, never do. The jokes fly about - and sure, people laugh - but usually you don't take them to heart. I've heard many a white person joke and I only actually fit into a few of them, hehe. |

In a way. For instance: If I meet a Mexican I might greet him in spanish because I assume he can speak spanish. This is a form of stereotyping, but I don't think it's harmful. |

There are sterotypes about all races. Stereo types have SOME truth to them. For example:
"white people cant dance".. ok so SOME cant dance.
"blacks like fried chicken" ..ok so SOME blacks do like fried chicken
"Asians dont know how to drive" ok so SOME dont know how to drive
"Mexicans all live in one house together" Ok so SOME do have their families live with them
There are soo many stereo types |

No I don't stereotype based on race, the way you dress, the way you speak, your haircut, tattoos, piercings or any other outward appearance. I will stereotype you based on your behavior though. |

i have my own thoughts based upton experience and reality. sometimes i guess wrong but i'm usually not surprised. genetics is genetics and you can sometimes get a good estimation of the DNA someone has from viewing their body. |

I think part of the reason we stereotype is because it helps us organize people in our minds. We try to organize information to make sense of it and keep it straight. I have a tendency to notice when people DO fit the stereotype, even though I recognize it as being that- just a stereotype. It bothers me when I know a Mexican student who really is lazy and does no work in school, not because he's a "typical Mexican," but because he's only perpetuating the stereotype for the students growing up with him. I take notice of things like that, and it gets under my skin. |

I don’t think anyone tries to stereotype people. A lot of times when we do stereotype people we do it subconsciously, or out of habit. There are good stereotypes and bad stereotypes. I personally try my best to not stereotype people, but judge by that person and that person alone, rather than judging their race or nationality based on one person. I have stereotyped people before, and I realize it is wrong. However, we don’t just stereotype people based on their race, for example, you see a BMW pull up, you think “they must have money.” You see a Cadillac Escalade with 24’s on it, you think, “they must be black.” You see a 4x4 truck that is blaring country music, you think, “they’ve got to be white.” You see a conversion van with no windows and Texas plates, you think, “There is a group of Mexicans.” We stereotype on so many levels it is ridiculous! You see a white boy in urban apparel, you think, “he’s trying to be black.” Anna mentioned some other stereotypes. I have done it, but very seldom. We shouldn’t … but that is our society, don’t you love it! |

I don't think the problem is so much with sterotypes as it is what we do with those sterotypes. I don't have a problem with someone saying people with big feet have trouble finding shoes, the problem is when someone says people with big feet have trouble finding shoes so they shouldn't be allowed to shop around me. |

I think whether we like to admit it or not people subconsciously stereotype everyone. From whether it be the blonde cheerleader type to the jock to being black or gay or whatever. We might not mean naything by it but maybe it happens. It might not be a good thing but it doesn't neccisarily make you racist or prjudice. |
