I really try to help. The points dont matter to me, its helping ppl that matters to me. |

I answer questions to help people, give my opinion or be a smart ***. I never answer for the points. |

I try to help people with my personal experiences. I don't answer questions that I don't have an answer for, unlike some people who put "I don't know" and get 2 points.....)( |

It really all depends on the question. If i feel i'm qualified, to answer it and help people, then yeah, i try to help. if it's stupid questions, like what's ur fav. color and stuff like that, then yeah it's for the pts. Sorry i'm guilty of it. |

I honestly try to help them, I don't answer ones I know nothing about. I have on occasion though been a smart mouth when they ask idiotic questions or can't spell. |

help them if its a good question, make them feel retarded if its an ignorant question, yes...there is such a thing as a bad question :) |

If it's a serious question then I try to help. When people ask stupid questions ("Are there pyramids on Mars?") then I give them BS and get my 2 points. |

I answer questions if I know that my answer would benefit people. If I am trained on a specific subject and I know the answer, for sure I would like to share my knowledge to whomever wants to listen. One of the things I like about Yahoo! Answers is the vast subjects available. I also like the different replies from people - a potpourri of points of view. I would imagine the answers come from different age groups and a variety of professions. |

To be honest: a little of both.
I spend a bit more time answering Qs partly because of the points, but I do like helping people by answering.
I only answer questions that I feel I can do a decent job answering. I take the time to write out a complete and full answer which is well written and easy to read.
If I find that I truly helped the asker, I am very glad. I have life experience in various things so try and just share what I know and have gone through myself. |

I try to help them unless the question is really obvious or dumb. Ex.) How many stars are on the flag? Or what does an alien look like? That's when I try to be obvious or dumb in my answer. |

I agree. I'm not big on answering questions I don't know much about. That's why I'm always answering military questions I guess. I like to help people, and working full time while being a full time student doesn't allow for much time, so answers helps me share the wealth of knowledge. |

It really depends on the merit of the question.
