Do you buy stuff from Ebay and if u do have u ever had problems with it?
I'm asking this b/c I've never bought anything from the Ebay. So, any response will be appreciated. So, just drop a thought, u might evenget 10 points.

What are the pros and cons of using Ebay?

I have used ebay for years. I can't think of the last time I had a bad BUYING experience. I will tell you that selling is a different story. When you sell, if an issue arises, the burden of proof is on the seller, and there are a lot of loonies out there who know how to get their items and screw the seller out of their money.

Pros: You can find some great stuff. You can get used stuff and pay a little less. If it exists, you can find it on ebay.

Cons: Waiting for the auction to end, dealing with Paypal, and the fact that almost everyone on there is now an "e-seller" which is a "company" selling stuff. Gone are the days of everyday people selling their stuff to other everyday people. Now, thanks to e-sellers, most of their stuff isn't any cheaper than the store once you add shipping.

Oh yeah, BEWARE the shipping rip off. A) Because you can't fight it and B)Because e-bay doesn't take a cut out of shipping charges, MANY sellers jack up the shipping prices to ridiculous levels.

And its best to wait until the last minute to bid! :-) Decreases the time people have to outbid you.

It can be a great thing. Just READ the ad CAREFULLY, do your homework on the item and the seller, and use your common sense...if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Good luck! :-)

I have never had problems. You need to buy from sellers with a good reputation. They will send you the items you buy immediately and they provide an excellent service.

I but from EBay on occasion. I used to buy so much stuff the mailman stopped one day and asked me why we were getting so many Priority Mail boxes. Most of the time, it's fine. Sellers are honest and you get your product. But there have been times where I have paid for a product and the seller did not mail anything at all.
What really made these situations bad was that the actual price for the product (minus shipping) was under EBay's $20 limit. If it's more than $20, EBay used to refund your money. Check that policy as it might have changed. More recently, I had trouble with a seller because the shipping firm said they delivered it, but did not. She did not refund me, as I could not file the claim with the shipper. Only she could and she kept my money and the product. (It was under the dollar amount and EBay could not help.) Always check the sellers rating and look at any negative comments buyers leave. They give important insight. Otherwise, I have had no complaints. Just read their policies and have fun!!!!
Happy Bidding!!!

I have bought a few items on EBay-- It's important to look at the seller's rating-- you'll see it on the right hand side of the top of the page and read any and all comments from buyers. I don't buy from anyone with a less than 98% favorable score. Also know what you are buying and what it's worth. It is easy to overbid on an item you could buy somewhere else for less.make sure you find out what the shipping charges are-- you can buy something for $1 and pay $10- $15 for shipping.
Good luck & have fun

I have bought a few things from ebay. No problems so far. Just watch who you are buying from. Look at the sellers feedback score. I never buy from anyone with a score less than 99%. Read their buyers feedback comments too. They tell a lot about the seller. Such as, quick shipment, great product, etc. Hope this helped!!

I've bought and sold MANY things on Ebay. I've only had one problem but did receive my money back. Ebay has ways of getting your money back if you have a problem with anyone. I reccomend checking out feedback ratings first before dealing with someone. Feedback tells alot about the seller. I love buying on ebay, they have so much stuff that I could never buy in my town. Good Luck!

Hi! I have been selling and buying on eBay since 1998. I love eBay because you can find nearly anything or sell nearly anything (within eBay guidelines). I have never had a problem with buying or selling on eBay.
Pros of eBay = get great products at super duper prices - fun to see how high bids will go on your item - get items that you couldn't find elsewhere - place to buy from sellers from around the world - There is a built in security for buyers through the use of feedback (you can actually see a rating for a seller or buyer).
Cons of eBay = You can't see your item before you buy it except through pictures. - If you worry alot, you might worry about your item until it is shipped to you.

Hey, there is a great website for people who are new to eBay just like you. Check it out, I listed it in the "Sources" section.

Good Luck!

I used to be addicted to Ebay like I'm now addicted to Yahoo answers, and I never had a problem buying anything. Just make sure you read all payment info, shipping details, and product descriptions carefully. Also look for sellers with high positive feedback ratings- and if you want to be even more cautious, read the feedback ratings to see what, if any, problems buyers have had with that seller in the past. Ebay is like all other net businesses- if you're careful, you'll be fine.

EBAY IS VERY GOOD FOR MOST OF THE STUFF I HAVE BEEN BUYING SINCE 1999 AND HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM ONCE I GOT A DEFECTIVE MEMORY AND THE BUYER GAVE MY MONEY BACK IT IS MORE SAFE TO PAY USING PAYPAL AS YOU DEFINITELY GET YOUR MONEY BACK IF THE ITEM IS DEFETIVE OR NOT SUITABLE

Ebay is great - until you have a problem in which case you are essentially on your own. Their problem resolving service is less than useless, and Paypal equaly so. So - be very careful who you buy from. The %age rating is slightly less important than the number of sales a seller has completed. Someone with thousands of sales will almost inevitably have upset someone somwhere down the line, but will generally be reliable if their %age score is high 90s. You never see anyone with a score below 90 as they are generally dodgy so no-one goes near. Of more concern are the ones who may have 100% or 99% but only from a few (under 10) sales. You have no idea really if these are a few bogus sales done through friends to look good - before riping poeple off for a bit then closing their account and starting again. My advice is as with your local small ads - buyer beware. If it looks not quite right, leave it. Ebay suggests it is a safe place to buy cos of all the safeguards, but when a problem arises you will get less than no help from them. I have bought and sold over 150 items and only had 2 issues. In both cases I never got the money back. In one case Payal asked for proof of receipt (for a fauty item I had returned to seller but had no refudn for) but I had sent it normal post. I did however have an email from the seller saying they had received the item from me - but this was not enough for Paypal! Shame really - it used to be great but unless Ebay looks after its good customers it will become unusuable.
