The sun remains in just about the same position. It is moving around a little, but in the sense you're talking about, it isn't going anywhere. The Earth is rotating on its axis. Night is simply the time when the side of the Earth you are on is facing away from the sun. |

It's on the other side of the earth. When one side of the earth is having a daytime the other side is having a night time. |

Yes. It doesn't go anywhere. The Earth swings around and gets in-between you and the Sun. |

I pack it in a bowl and smoke it. Just kidding. The media turns it off in order to "shed light" on people everyday when they wake up. The guy that owns Fox has the clapper for it. |

There is no such thing as a sun. There is a holy goose that watches over our planet. When the goose is rested, she lays a heavenly egg and sends it across our skies. We must please the goose so she may lay another egg tomorrow. I got **** to do. |

Paddy was trying to organize a manned spaceship trip to the sun. 'But you'll get burned to death' his friend told him in no uncertain terms. 'That's alright' said Paddy 'we thought of that. We're going to go at night'. |

The sun does not go anywhere but because of the earth's rotating on its axis and we live in one measly spot on earth, it seems as if the sun sets at night to go somewhere. Actually it is your part of the earth that is rotating away from the earth, only to find itself facing the sun again after nighttime, then comes dawn when we welcome the sun again. Isn't it funny? We turn away from the sun then we face it again and say "welcome". |

The sun is static. The world is spinning. |

The Earth revolves around the Sun and at the same time rotates on its own axis. These occur simultaneously. The revolution causes seasons and the rotation causes day and night. Rotation causes the side facing the sun to experience day (light shines on that side) and the side away from the sun experiences night...that is also the reason why time varies from place to place. |
