I have all of my paystubs (except the ones that didn't make it through the wash) since April of 1998 when I first started working - though I'm not really sure WHY I have them. My parents always told me to save them... |

Bad girl. GO TO YOUR ROOM.
It's no big deal. You will get at W2 from your employer with your yearly earnings anyway.
I am sure you can request the records for a certain pay period if you wanted. |

In the past I did, but I never really needed them for anything. Now my company uses electronic pay readouts so I just save them in a folder. The most important one is the last one of the year, or the last one from a former job. This is because they can be used to file your income tax. |

I always save my pay stubs. It helps me to figure out what my next check will be. I get overtime and I'm able to estimate using my past stubs. |

Yeah, it is a good idea to save them....things like financial aid and other loans will ask for them (or your taxex one) I would start saving them. |

I used to save pay stubs, utility bills, bank statements, phone bills.....I finally gave it up and threw it all away. I live on assumption that there is always a paper trail. Times are changing and things like that are not as important as it once was. I quick phone call can get any "important" document you need. DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!!!!!!! |

Tell your mom that everything you'll need is on your 1099 at the end of the year. |

I saved my 1st and last ones from previous jobs and current job I would just keep the last one each time, in case you need the info from it....unless you do direct deposit then it'd be in your bank statements |

I save them for one year then shred them.
This way, you can trend your deductions and hours worked and also have proof of employment if you need to buy a car, boat, or house or get a loan of some type. |

You should for a couple of reasons.
1. Is taxes. Your job is not always right on their w4's.
2. If you have time coming to you such as sick etc sometimes that is incorrect and only your past checks can help you.
You should really listen to your mom. |
