IMO, no, God from the Bible doen't exist. This is not to say God Himself doesn't exist, just the diety "as defined in the Bible". He was an invention to give the people of the time answers to questions that cannot have answers.

As for Jesus, yes he existed. There is documented evidence outside the Bible of his existence. Sparse but it can be found. Whether he accomplised all the neat things they say he did in those 3 years is debatable. He may have done things similar to those reported in the Bible and in the telling of the story the feat may have been embellished. There doesn't seem to be evidence outside of the Bible to corroborate the stories.

As for the 'son' part, aren't we ALL sons and daughters of God? I've always believed we ARE His children. If not, what are we to him? I'd rather not think of myself as sheep... ;-)
