There is a great chance that we might, but what I fear is that if we do, than some countries that hate us (almost all of them) will declare war on us and than how would we pay for the weapons and man-power? WE'LL HAVE TO START DRAFTING!!!!! |

No we are not. Our economy is going to get worst before it gets better. If everyone keeps spending money we will not hit a depression. if everyone get scared about spending money because they are scared of a depression we will hit a depression. For example. If no one buys cars that means people who produce cars get layed, car dealers get layed off, car shops close down, and all those ppl have less money to buy products such as food and ect. then food places will start closing down and ect..its an on going process. |

Look NO ONE is going to help us not Obama and not any elected official ! The Banks are printing money like crazy and you can't print money out of thin air because it will cause more debt,California's Tax refunds, welfare checks, student loans, will be SUSPENDED starting Feb.,we are definitely heading for a DEPRESSION and a person can not understand that than they need to get their heads out of their A$$es and take their fingers out of their ears !!! this Economy is FAKE never was real ever since the FED took control, and once that the economy collapses they will introduce the AMERO and the NORTH AMERICAN UNION,it's called PROBLEM,REACTION,SOLUTION right now we are in PROBLEM next will be reaction and than after that the SOLUTION |

No, people are saying that the economy hasn't been this bad since the great depression, I think otherwise. We are still the richest country in America. Well, I think I have changed my mind. With all the job losses, we could possibly go into another depression. Here's something to think about: what if we go into a depression and can afford any weapons for war in Iraq, we could loose. Or, Europe will get another opportunity to take us over. Oh, I'm getting scared. |

are you 7? you dont understand the fundamentals of economics at all, no we are not going into another great depression, it will only be a recession and we will get better, NYC does have money that was a lame remark |
|

No. Not by a long shot.
People today just have no concept about how much more things can get worse.
For all the bad news you hear, only 7.2% of the people that want to work, aren't working. It was well over 20% in the Great Depression.
I remember back in the late 70s and early 80s, things were as bad or worse. California is about to start issuing IOUs instead of real checks to some people. Everyone runs around like it's the end of the world. Well I remember California doing the same damn thing in the late 70s.
Unemployment was over 10% for both 1981 and 1982.
I think it's very likely we are in for a tough economy, the likes we had in 1981 and 1982. But I do not see anything close to the Great Depression coming down the pike. |

I would say so, we may not have a black tuesday but it'll go down. Supply-side economics (giving money to businesses) didn't work in the Great Depression and it's not working now. We're wasting our money and it's sad we're doing the same thing again. |
