i had them at a previous job. they were not motivating at all. they were just like art work. i think a person is needed to motivate other people.

for many many years we used to receive motivational leaflets and booklets from the boss thru some secretarial organization, and as time went on yearly everyone was sent to some motivational or some improvement course or career course or new skills course.

Along with that the piped in music was subliminal suggestion music.for the purposes of motivation. That's how the company got around having posters. Everyone worked hard but was overstressed and didn't know why...ha..the subliminal worked well. In fact stores play music that tells individuals not to steal.

We have a huge great banner saying "this is a positive thinking area!" Its been put on the wall farthest from all the staff so not sure who ever gets motivated by it! I only ever see it when I look at the clock to see if its home time!

We have all these posters of great leaders who are part of American minority groups with quotes from each person. I actually like them because they're not your usual dumb "There is no I in TEAM" kind of 6th grade bull.
