just an I.O.U., from the Bank (along with the rest of the cash they rip you off for), horde it spend it, have a good time with it, your cash your dough, do what you want... . |

Yeah, I think of it like this. Also have you ever considered if all the numbers typed into a computer actually exist, ie if EVERYONE sold their shares, went to the bank and tried to withdraw ALL their money - would there be enough £s in circulation? No chance. Money is kind of a god replacement. Except money exists. |

yep, it seems ridiculous to me to even have money. We should just trade and barter and stuff like they used too. It is really a stupid thing, that we get this paper suppose to be "money" and we never really see the actual gold or whatever that it represents. I don't see the freakin point. I am glad you ask this, i have wondered it for years, glad to see i am not alone.... |

Unfortunately, a lot of people are slaves to money, which is really a bad thing. For those that know the game of money, it is an awesome way of keeping score, isn't it? |

I do think of it like that a lot. Its just a bunch of tokens really, no different from cereal packet tokens. You do something and someone rewards you with tokens. Funny how the invention of money was inevitable too. People would always want something or need something they couldn't get themselves. So they ask others to get it for them, and they grant a favour in return. Only after a while people didn't have enough favours they could pay people with, so they said tell you what....how about i give you 10 carrots. Then that guy would pay another guy with the carrots because he didn't like to eat them. Then eventually someone said instead of using carrots why don't we just use bits of paper and metal. Lets say 1 piece of metal is the same as giving one carrot to someone to say thanks for doing a job. If everyone uses these little metal bits instead of using loads of different things we will all know whats what. Lets call these metal things groats! and the rest is history! Lol its fascinating. I wander what the first ever coin was called?
I find it weird too how in the past money was always to pay for something to be done, like cleaning something, or making something. Whereas now adays you can get paid money for making money from money other people have let you borrow. Here have my tokens and make my tokens make more tokens! Do coins give birth or what? lol
Just looking at a couple of answers above and i think i can sum it up. You see on tokens and coupons......they always say cash value.....0.00001p. Its the same with money, you never see the gold or treasure or whatever it represents. Money is just that, a label, it represents something. Actual physical notes, and coins the hunk of nickel/copper/aluminium whatever it is alloy has next to no value what so ever. The paper in a fiver is only a tiny bit smaller than the paper in a £50 note, and as a piece of paper its worthless. Its all just to do with the number we print on the piece of paper and the significance we attach to it. |

YES
Have enough and you never need to work.
Any problems and pay someone else to fix them.
Want anything then get it.
Waken up and make it. |

Remember that your pocket is your best friend. The world moved from barter and swopping goods in favour of vouchers now known as money. The little pieces of paper are resistant to forgery and are worth having. |
