I believe that a raise of $7.25/hr was recently approved by the house of Representatives, but I have not heard anything more within the last week. |

I was watching the news the other night. A special report on minimum wage,and to be plain and simple,Minimum wage is NOT going up this year,BUT I believe they are working on it going up to 7.25 an hour sometime for the 2007 work year. That's what the special report said. :) |

I dont know about national minimum wage but I know alot of states are raising the minimum wage. MA is talking about raising it to 8/hr! |

They really need to raise the min wage in California. If they paid people according to the cost of living it should be about $12.00. |

Yes, I was told @ my job mw is going up soon. ( But it really doesn't matter much, for every quarter that Min wage goes up, it seems like everything else goes up .50cents! ) (or more) Besides that, it's been on the news several times in the past few months. |

In Pennsylvania its been approved to raise to $6.25 Jan 1 and then to $7.15 July 1
Maybe the welfare people will move to West Virginia |

They're voting on a bill that would raise min wage BUT it's also tacked on to another provision that would change estate tax laws to really favor the rich. For this reason it's probably not going to pass. |

Minimum wage is expected to go up January 2007. It was confirmed July 2006. Minimum wage has went up a dollar |

Why should there even be a minimum wage? The lowest wage is for entry level employees. As you gain more experience you earn more. If all you can do is pick cotton at $1/hour maybe you need more training rather than a minimum wage. |

Last I heard it was drawn up to be raised in 4 parts to the $7 range... then Congress hit recess for a while.. so don't hold your breath for a few months. |
