Sorry, Donkeyzoom, but Steinbeck is American. Lived in the Monterey Bay area just south of me, as a matter of fact.
Teens do love the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, as well as the Disc World series, the author of which I do not currently remember (one of our other know-it-alls will, though), but I'm pretty sure he's British. They also tend to like some of the older British writers; there's a big fad on for C.S. Lewis right now, due to the Chronicles of Narnia being made into a movie. |
