Is there anyone out there that can relate to this situation?...When i was a baby i was adopted by an air force couple who couldn't have kids..my real mom and dad didn't want me..when i found them 18 yrs later..they didn't want anything to do with me...my adopted parents..never showed me love or the stuff moms and dads do for there kids...my adopted parents always reminded me that i was never wanted..now that i am older..i know what it's like to hurt inside...i do all that i can do for others...i never even get a thank u..sometimes i even go out of my way to help others..and all i ever get in return is being ignored..
My family( aunts and uncles) i do keep in touch with by phone or mail..they never take the time to return my calls..what is wrong here?...why is life treating so bad in return?...sometimes i hope that god takes me durring my sleep...do u ever feel like this???? |

WOW!! I have never been in that situation, and I am so sorry that there are people out there that could behave so badly towards their own flesh and blood.
Please look at this another way when you feel the strength to do so: We don't get to choose who puts us here, but we DO get to choose how we can rise above all the crap. YOU can be a success story. You can be inspirational to thers who may feel similar. the only way to do this is to start a healing process which may take speaking with a professional about how you are feeling.
DO NOT let these people bring you to the point of wanting death over life. You are obviously already way above their mentallity. You are in touch with your feelings, intelligent enough to reach out for advice, and you have a strong, solid opinion. This has to be right up there with the most painful things that can happen to a person's soul.
I know you can rise above. Good Luck.

that is a very sad situation. You need to find acceptance from yourself. It is nice yet not necessary to have it from others. I was not adopted, but Had a lack of wanting from my mother, my father left when I was young. If you want to talk post it back and I will send you my contact info. Good luck and I wish you peace |

I feel like this alot, but after hearing your story I feel like my life has no problems, though they seemed big 5 minutes ago. I was not adopted but wished I was alot. I am angry with your adoptive parents and I dont even know you or them. your birthparents on the other hand made their decision a long time ago and seemed to have stuck to it. at least they are consistant. I am sorry you feel the way you do. Some day maybe you will have a daughter of your own and will show her all the love you always wanted. And in turn you will find the love you never found. Mother daughter relationships are hard sometimes, but very rewarding. My daugher is 13, we have had our moments, but are very close. please dont give up on life, love yourself and take care of yourself and show yourself respect and demand the same from any relationship you are in. You are worth it. |

Sorry, I've never been through this but it sounds so sad, god is always there for you, pray to him day and night, try going to church and reading the bible to comfort you, but life will get better, you'll meet the man of your dreams who'll love you and take care of you, till then be strong and don't give up on life, you have so much to look forward to...god bless |

i'm on the other side of that. my mother gave a child up for adoption thru catholic charities - all records sealed. she had one child not by my father, but with my dad had 7 living children. there is someone out there with 1/2 my dna and i have no idea where he is. he has the opotion of finding us (thru his family) , but apparently doesn't want to.
your families don't know WHAT to do. not about you, but about themselves. no one really knows their place in your life.your aunts and uncles might have problems with your parents, not you, so how do they have a relationship with you and not them? i love my nieces and nephews ,but can't deal with brothers and sisters so that hinders my relationship with them. |

Earlier in my life, I have felt much as you did. Although I was raised by my actual parents, I never felt wanted. As a child, I tried everything I could think of to get the acceptance that I craved. Nothing worked.
I'm not going to say that now everyone accepts me. They don't. It just doesn't matter anymore. I accept myself. It's taken years, but I've gotten to the point where I truly don't care what other people think about me.
I can't really help you go through this. It's too personal and you will have to do it on your own. But, if you ever want to talk, let me know. |
