Yes I use to see him occasionally at the CirlceK down the street from his house when I lived in Bellevue. Not a big wad of money but a few bucks on him. |

I can't personally see him waltzing into the corner shop for a mars bar or anything (although there's no reason why he shouldn't!), so I don't think he needs to |

Yes. Like most rich people. About 20,000$ dollars which is nothing for him. It's like us carrying a couple of quarters and pennies. That's his change lol. |

Of course he doesn't.
He doesn't need to go around buying things for himself, and even if he does go to this hi-end place, or even this normal place..he's probably with his secretary/assistant who does all the paying for him...
Another thing, his "net worth" is 50 billion dollar+, but it doesn't mean he has all of it in cash. Originally, all his networth was calculated based on his shareholding in Microsoft..over the years he's withdrawn much of his holdings from Microsoft and invested it into other industries..his present holdings in Microsoft only account for 30% of his worth, with the rest of the 70% invested into other sectors/companies..with one notable example being Apple. (Though many refuse this, his financial advisor has mentioned in an interview that he does invest into anything which gives good returns in response to a question asked by the interviewer if Bill Gates had stocks in Apple, which is pretty evident that he does own a small part of Apple.)
My guess would be, he only has around 1 Billion dollars in cash in his bank account, with the rest invested into liquid/illiquid investments. |
