Does ebay charge a fee for selling on their site?
i know amazon carges you 10 percent but does ebay? i have never sold on it before

Yes, there is a very small listing fee plus 5.25% (or less) of the selling price.

If your item doesn't sell, you get to relist it once without paying the listing fee again.

kidd3422
Yes. Ebay charges you to list the item and they take a percentage if/when it sells. There are also other fees for things like adding pictures and other things.

Douglas D
Yes they charge .20 per auctions and a percentage per item sold called a final value fee. You can get all the details on their site.

Yes, they do charge a percentage, and for adding additional pics on the item also.

Sparkles
Yes eBay charges you to list it and also any pictures you have plus a percentage fee of anything you sell. If you accept Pay Pal, you also have to pay a small fee for that.

Stephen K
They charge a listing fee, then take a percentage of the sale (which depends on how much the item sells for)

drewski
yes the charge you for listing a product, pics of it, details just about anything. but if you watch what you are doing you can keep it under a doller

eBay does charge you a percent. Also you can add extra features for extra money.

Soni-ku
Yes. You need a credit card to start a sellers account. The fee is no big deal- it is a small percent of the final selling price. I don't remember what the percent it- I think it may only be 3-5 %.

e
Yes, ebay charges a small listing fee (like 20 or 50 cents) to list your item and then 5.25 % of the final sale.

Yes, you have in insertion fee that depends on the amount you are starting the bid at. The higher the bid the higher the insertion fee. for a .99 cent auction i think it is around .19 cents. You get one photo for free and they are .15 cents each after that. If you use a gallery picture (recommended!) thats the pic they see in the search. It is .35 cents for that. My auctions usually cost around .80 cents for selling a t-shirt with a starting bid of .99 cents and 2 or 3 pictures.
Hope this helps. I dont remember the exact amounts but that is pretty damn close ;)

Yes but its not much. If you choose to sell something for 3 days, say fri. sat.sud. When most people shop ebay, then its really cheap

Robert P
yes! and they keep charging additional costs for more pictures, a better looking page, how your item will be displayed and so forth. They also charge you for the reserve price, but that's only a percentage(they have a chart showing how much when you click "reserve price")

elizabethwhoa24
yes ebay does charge so make sure you have some kind of cash flow you can use for a start up cost.

Brigette B
yes. they take a certain 'seller's fee' depending on the final sale price of your item.

Mandy
Yes ebay does charge listing fees. Although it isn't too much, it does add up. Even if your item does not sell, you will have to pay ebay a fee.

This is why I prefer Amazon.com, you only have to pay the fee if your item sells!!

*****
Yes.

stanleys_2001
yep...

Ebay has a rate schedule.

They charge the SELLER.

silly questions
of course they charge - whywould they do it for free?

dong d

Kevin S

ebay charges and pay pal charges.

After a disappointing .99 closing auction on your beloved belongings, ebay has just ripped another person off.

I think they do!!
