i dont want to be a smart *** but im sure if it didnt work it would be bankrupt by now. and im sure bad deals o down sometimes. ive ordered one thing off ebay and it went bad for me. i like handing people cold hard cash for a hard instant copy of what it is im buying. |

I buy and sell on ebay alot, it works great if you are not a moron! (some of the other answerers must be morons)
You need to buy from someone who has a high % - like 97-100% and make sure they have lots of sales - you need to do a little research but I have NEVER lost $ or not had a product not sold. Dont listen to the complainers who will answer just look at who you are buying from.
For something like a sidekick I would probably still try to buy new though even on ebay |

The answers to your questons are obvious if you think about how long Ebay has been in existance.....it wouldn't be there if no sellers got thier money and no buyers got their product.
This is what you do...open a paypal account because this way you have protection. Check out the sellers thoroughly and since you are new go to the ebay help boards and post a question stating auction numbers for your choices to buy from..members will happily help research the sellers and tell you which ones are the best choices for you to buy from. Once you win an auction, you will pay your seller through paypal before they ever send your product...seller ALWAYS get paid before they send product. Now, you will get your product, but if you don't or it comes damaged or not as described you will have the ability to file whatever needs to be filed with PayPal for what the problem was and should get your money back or new item sent or whatever applies. |

Yes. I have bought & sold on ebay many times & I've never had a problem. Just look at the seller's feedback score. You can also read comments left by previous customers. |

Yes. I choose sellers in the same time zone. I look for feedback and how long they been selling, and what type of avatar seller name they assigned themselves to. |

First ,yes, i have done both. eBay provides review services for a user so that you can see what other buyers have said about that user. Also PayPal is used, which is an independent and secure pay service. Third, there is eBay court where you can put the transaction into contest if it has been misrepresented or not delivered. eBay has all of these and othres in place to ensure that you get the product you are looking for. I've bought a few things off of ebay, had one really bad experience with a coach purse that turned out to be fake and then the seller just ignored me and I got ripped off. I would just be really careful and check out their feedback to make sure the other buyers had good experiences with the seller. Also make sure you pay thru paypal because I think they have some protection on your purchases. |

hey, i used ebay like 3 times last summer, i bought an ipod for my sister and myself. and then i bought a ipod case! it works, i sent out a money order to the seller though instead of using a credit card because i am a bit iffy on that one! and i got my product like 2 days later! But im going to warn you. i live in canada and here if you get something over $40.. there is some sort of fee from the UPS people. SO i think you should inquire about this fee. i ended up paying an extra $35.00 on one of the ipods!! but for the other 2 things.. they knocked on my door and handed me the items! good luck.. hope this helps! :) |

Buyers and sellers on ebay are generally honest. Sellers usually get their money and buyers usually get the product requested. Sometimes you need to be careful and ensure that a seller is not misrepresenting his product. Like selling knock off or cheap replicas or cell phones that don't work consistently. |

I use eBay to buy and sell everyday.
I have had no problems except for one when the guy wouldnt post my item.
I have been doing it for about 3 years and thats the only trouble ive had.
I have always gotten my money.

I have had really good luck with ebay. Just pay attention to the feedback and don't buy from people that get alot of negatives. |

Look at their rating. If they have a good rating and good feed back, its definetly going to save you some money. But it is really important to look at their rating...if its a high number, then that means ALOT of people are pleased with their service. Good luck |

I tried to sell 3 things and nobody bid on them. And if you open a PayPal account, it charges your card every month. Just like 30 cents, which is nothing, but it adds up.
In my opinion, NOT WORTH IT. |
