Is there really such a thing as winter blend that costs cheaper, or because less people travel during the fall and winter months, gas companies follow the principles of supply and demand and start reducing their prices.
Additional Details
well msnbc.com and other news organizations claim that winter blend fuels do have something to do with dropping gas prices, but it may not be as significant as world events, and other factors which im guessing could be the supply and demand issue I brought up earlier, check out this article

Fuel in itself is supply and demand. But the oil companies are betting your going to consume more because of winter. Since we inport fuel and export fuel it seems dumb right. I'm working out her right now. Know why we inport fuel? Because they don't have refineries, we do. Want the price to go down dirt cheap again? Let's charge the same price for a barrel of wheat as they do for oil, bet you'd see a drastic change in prices, because they don't have wheat. It's all supply and demand |

gas prices have nothing to do with the seasons, it depends on the cost of oil per barrel, the higher the barrels, the higher the gas, same if the barrels cost lower, so does the gas |

I never really noticed that it was cheaper in winter. It was always too expensive for my blood. Right now, I know it's because like 13 billion barrels were found in mexico. I'm pretty happy for that. It's rediculous that people actually think that we're going to run out of gas. Not in our lifetime.... |

gas prices are going down to about $2 a gallon by thanksgiving where i live, i think its because they know that people dont really travel in their cars so why push them to not get gas? still make money, then when the summer comes and they know people go everywhere they jack the prices up |
