First you'd have to clarify "change." Can money change a person's lifestyle? Yes, and it will change it 99% of the time because (obviously) when people come into money they will almost automatically begin changing their lifestyle (i.e. different eating habits, nicer cars, nicer house, etc.). Now will it change people in pertaining to who they are and what they stand for? That depends. Some people come into more money and nothing changes except for their lifestyles (and sometime not even that). They keep the same values, friends, and standards. Other times money can make a person extra greedy, stingy, and heartless. It all depends on the amount of money and the personality of the person.
*and just to clear something up from a previous answer, Money is not the root to all evil. The quote is "the LOVE of money is the root to all evil." HUGE difference. Hope that helps! Thanks! |

Yes, it matures us. You never know how you'll react with it until you have it, and you'll never know how it changed you until you lose it.
Money can also act like a narcotic. Once you become dependant upon it, you lose your ability to be "poor" and survive. Your life skills begin to atrophy, so to speak, because you allow money to take care of you, which of course it can't, it can only buy stuff. |

Everything changes people. It depends on the type of person you are, and how you accept the change. I was born poor, and have more money now, but I use a lot of it to buy Toys for Tots at Christmas, I always treat my friends when we go out, and I buy my husband things he wouldn't buy for himself. I still keep my old Saturn, just because there's nothing wrong with it. I don't think it's fair to assume somebody will change for the worse. Give them a chance. |

it most certainly does.a person that never had allot and came into money, they spend it real quick.a person that has money and acquires more becomes greedy, selfish and believes they are better than every one else. |

Yes it does. However, over time it doesn't generally make them any happier. I have come across lots of rich people and they are no happier than people on low incomes. |

most likely. I would suppose so, too much money can cause people to be crazy spenders, too little causes them to be crushed by financial problems. The average people w/ normal income want more of what they dont have, the people with sufficient just want to ugrade their things.. so how could it be possible if money didnt change people? 8) |

No, money does not change people. It changes the way other people perceive that person. |

Yes, It does. No matter who you are. It can make you happier when your sad. Rich when your poor. Nicer if your mean. Meaner if your nice. Greedier, And so much more. Not saying that it'll change you in that way, specifically. But, it will have an effect on you! |

It does some amazing things to people .
It can make them selfish and greedy.
Or alternatively it can make therm very charitable to those less fortunate.
Me,I would be the latter. |

Even if you're already a selfish, uncaring, greedy and manipulative bastard, it'll still change you because of the freedom and power associated with the current economic system of "fairness of exchange of goods and services, etc." because when you have no money you have no power, no influence, no voice, no respect - but you do have a vote that cannot be sold and is therefore worthless in your time of need.
Money changes people dramatically - and it's scary. It needs to be banned. |

When a monkey, or a chicken discover something, they try to keep the others away, and will be absorbed by their treasure, to the point where a change in their behavior, will be noted. A person without means, or money will be in one mode, and then if a windfall occurs, they will again change and be anxious, to worry, fret, and fight, to preserve, whatever they got justly, or unjustly. Remember It's the love of money, that is the root of all evil, and not the money itself. |
