well, foreigners told me not to fold or crumple 100 dollar bills....they said that once you fold or crumple them, they have no value or the value is less....

We went to China to do an adoption last year and were told the same...We took only brand new $100.00 bills which were acceptable. There was a family there that took older bills and the consolate denied the money. Hope this helps. Again that was China, why the US would be as strict is new to me. |

If so, this is the first I've heard of it. I'm pretty sure most people would accept a 100 dollar bill...regardless of it's appearance. |

the u.s. accepts bills of any condition. once they reach a certain condition, they are destroyed. people fold their money over all the time. what most people don't know is our money as bills are concerned are not made of paper. it may be called rack paper, but its actually made of 90 percent cotton and 10 percent flux. bills are so durable that the mint stated it takes over 4,000 times of folding a bill in half before it will get weak and tear. |

I carry a tri-fold wallet. How else could I put any bill in it, much less a hundred, with out folding them in half. Recently I had one that got pretty tore up. Even one corner was gone and I had no trouble cashing it. Several of my friends just crumple them up and wad them in their jeans pockets. |

I think they accept any money. Whether it is new, old, use, crumpled or folded. Never heard of ANYONE not accepting US currency. |
