Yes -- sort of. During the course of a day, any person who is subject to gravity will lose a small fraction of an inch as vertebrae compress a bit in the spinal column. Proof of this is the apparent gain in height of astronauts in space! Also, anecdotally, some people will fail a minimum height requirement if taken later in the day, but will pass it if they are measured first thing in the morning! |

Yes.. but it's too small the even notice or measure. Most humans burn about 3,000 calories a day. Most people eat about 2,000 callories. and 1,000 calories burned can't really be measured. |

The answer is YES....whilst a person sleeps the gaps between joint cartlige relax and add upto 2 inches in a persons waking height. Naturally as the day progresses and the cartliges become compressed again the height is lost |
