Lethal injection is way more effective than hanging and the public does not want to see that either. If execution were to become public, the death penalty would cease in this country. |

We need to stop murdering murderers. Murder is never justified, not even if it is mandated by law. We need to put bad people in prison where they can attempt rehabilitation. Even if they aren't rehabilitated, murdering them just brings us down to their level. Some would say that the death penalty prevents people from committing murder. If that is the case than why are there still people being murdered in a country that has the death penalty?
I almost think that, if people are going be executed, we should show it to the public so that the public can see first hand what a terible, evil thing executions are. |

Capital punishment for rapists has been proven to be a very bad idea.
Reasoning was this:
Man rapes woman. She has the courage to go to police, actually recognises him in a line up and he even gets convicted. Let's say he gets 20 years jail... its a risk.
Now lets imagine he gets strung up for it. Would he take that risk? Probably not. If the victim lives she can get him executed: ergo kill the victim to save own life.
Death penalty does not stop crimes, just reduces the number of surviving witnesses |
