You don't need any money to start a lawn mowing biz..........I bought my first car when I was 12 from my lawn mowing money. Yes things have change since the 70's but it even easier now. Just go door to door and ask |

well do you have a lawn mower or one you can borrow for awhile?
if you do, then i would use about $10 to make up flyers and give them out
i'd put them in people's mailboxes and use word of mouth
i would keep the $10 for anything extra that comes up
i am sorry that you were bullied at school today
that really really sucks |

Well, throughout history people have done more with less, you know. $20 isn't much, as I'm sure you're aware, but I know that that's nearly enough to buy a Black & Decker push mower. It's that ancient looking type with no motor, you just push it and the blades chop the grass off as you walk. I know this because I have one in my garage that I bought brand new like 4 years ago from Lowe's for like $36.
If you already have a mower you can use, then it's just a matter of getting some clients... but is mid-October really the best time? Just something you gotta ask yourself honestly. Not being mean.
Good luck! |

first off to you have a lawn mower available to use if so then I would say yes buy 10 dollars of gas then ask around see who wants there grass cut do it cheap say for 8 dollars for the first 2 and there you go 6 dollars profit if no one bites drop the price to 5 if you do 2 lawns you still break even so yes like I said at the start yes just don't blow all 20 dollars on gas and end up broke if you don't have a mower well offer to rent some ones 5 dollars for the day if you can't get a mower then I have my doubts about your business working out forget about signs for now just use word of mouth it is cheaper and your work shows the type of job you do |

All you need is a lawn mower, some gas and the willingness to work hard. I'll bet you can get a lawn mover on craigslist for $20. Then just walk down the street knocking on doors. If you work hard, pretty soon you will have a whole list of weekly customers. You can make a lot of money that way. PS. Listen very carefully to what your customers want. If they like you, they will tell their friends. Put signs up around your neighborhood. |

That's a really good idea. I used to mow lawns in my neighborhood, and I don't think I had any money when I started. If you already have a mower and gas/oil, then that's basically it. I started out using our family mower, and I would buy the gas and oil for it and do the basic maintenance. I'm going to assume that you're starting out in your neighborhood. So to get the word out, you could go door to door and just ask if anyone would like you to mow their lawn for a reasonable price- that doesn't cost anything. And if you have poster board, a marker and a few wooden stakes, you can just make a few signs to stick on curbs; that runs pretty cheap too. You could also offer to do basic edgework, etc. for a little extra. |

i don't think that might be enough. do you have a lawn mower. try and get a twirling lawnmower. they are less expensive. |

depends on what you mean by starting?? do you have a lawn mower ready to use already? use the $20 on gas for it and get some clients rangled up,..check around your neighborhood..be your own person for awhile till you start rolling in cash then get a friend to help and split the profits. |

If you have a lawn mower and make a sign about it you can maybe post the signs up and pass them out in your neighborhood. It shouldn't cost a thing if you already have a lawn mower. |

that is enough to put gas in a lawn mower, and maybe print up flyers to advertise, but other than that, you better hope your parents will loan you their equipment! |

that's enough to get your own bank account and start saving and investing. you can get what is called certificate of deposit (cd) eventually. it pays off trust me. |

idk about $20 but keep saving until you know you have enough to do that and save a little more so your positive about the whole thing |

unless you already have a lawn mower and don't have to spend money to buy one, it's not enough money. but if you do have a lawn mower, maybe you can use that $20 to advertise your service... like print out (in large print to catch people's eyes) a flyer of what your service is and at the bottom.. have multiple strips of your number and name or something. |

Lawn mowers are hard to manufacture. The fact that they are miniature does not lessen this fact. |
