If you paid for this on a credit card then request a form to make a claim through your card issuer.
Otherwise hope that the complaint is upheld by paypal, presuming you used them, this should result in a full refund.
Though if you are expecting Ebay to do anything about it you can forget it as the only thing they do is refer you to paypal, then take their commission off your sale and move the juggernaught along to the next victim. |

The police wont do anything, sorry but i know this from past experience.
Keep on at ebay customer services, hopefully you will get your money back.
I never buy anything from sellers with less than 99% positive feedback. |

Police wont do anything (in america). if you paid through paypal they should force the other person to give a refund. |

If you paid for it using PayPal, you should contact them. This happened to me last year and PayPal was able to get me my money back. |

Unless you paid by paypal there really isn't much you can do.
The same thing happened to me. I sent a cheque to PHIL PETTIT in Yorkshire for a Clarice Cliff vase but although he cashed the cheque I never received the vase. He had his account closed by ebay but that didn't really help me. The only advice I can offer is CHECK THEIR FEEDBACK before you commit to buy. |

if ebay are fully aware of the thief, they SHOULD have contacted the police on your behalf , for which you'll need to ask ebay for details.
but there's nothing stopping you from going to the police to make a complaint, as well.
i would, as ebay need to be made accountable for allowing this theft of money to go on. |

Did you use PayPal? If yes, file a grievance with PayPal.
If not, did Ebay respond to you? If not report it again. Unfortunately the police have no power when it comes to Ebay.
Ebay is probably trying to contact the seller. If they do not get a hold of them in so many days (I think 30) Ebay will refund you and delete the seller's account.
Same thing happend to me, but I used PayPal. I didn't got most of my money back (minus a dollar or two because the exchange rate changed)
In the future, ALWAYS check the seller's rating and ALWAYS read the feedback from buyers. If it says there are negative or nuetral comments, look for them and see what they say. |

Does the seller has any negative feedbacks? If so, read the negative feedbacks first before bidding since eBay said you're not the only one. On eBay, the buyers are at the losing end as we do not know who to trust.
I'm not sure what will eBay do now. You can email them if you like. Is the seller from the UK? You can go to the police if you want, so that they can work with eBay to get the thief's IP address to track him/her down.
Hope that you'll get your money back. Best of luck! =) |

most likely you just lose your money. I paid with a money order once before and lost 50 dollars. If you paid with paypal you can file a claim and get your money back. |

I brought a ring from a seller in china and it never arrived so I contact eBay and put in a request for my money back through pay pal and I had it back in my account within two weeks of the complaint. The seller did not respond to my emails I sent him |

I had the same problem twice & both ebay & paypal did nothing because the items were under $25 (read their rules). I filed a police report & they did nothing too. Don't trust eBay, they let their "power merchants" get away with fraud. Paypal is just as bad because if the merchant has no money in the account, they can't retrieve it. They just get a slap in the wrist. |

If you are a paypal customer you need to lodge your complaint with them too, but if not dont worry. I sell and buy loads on ebay and the favour is tipped towards the buyer, if you say you didnt get the item ebay will take the money back from the seller and give it to you. It can take up to 30 days but you WILL get it back even if the seller ceases to exist. hope this is what you wanted to hear! |

Yes I would definitely file a complaint with your local police. Also call the Postmaster's office and ask if this qualifies as mail fraud. If you paid by credit card and 30 days has not yet passed file and complaint with them as well. If you used PayPal even better. They will go to bat for you and chase this person down.
If the seller suggests that the item was mailed then it should have been insured for the valued amount. I have bought and sold on Ebay and there is no excuse for an item not arriving. For the peace of mind of myself and seller I almost always send signature required and Always insure the item.
Do not wait and do not let this go. Chase this person until they deliver or give you a refund!!!! And do not hesitate to give that person a negative feedback. That gives you the opportunity to just lay out the facts of your situation without looking mean yet warning others this may happen to them.
Good luck |

Ebay will give you back your money and try to go after this person. You will have to leave a negative response with this person. I would also make sure you tell friends and family members not to use this person as a seller. Good Luck! |
