EBay fees are governed by the cost of the items you sell. If you go on to withdraw money from PayPal and put it into your bank account, there's added costs, making ebay a profit of around 6% on your items. It's ok giving us 10p listing days etc .. but all the other fees still add up, even after the payments have been made. The best thing to do is to list on 10p days and shrewdly calculate your opening bids in relation to costs by looking at the "fees" listed. When you amass enough money, the best step is to use it to buy using paypal...which is recognised on quite a few other sites. |

Ebay is in the advertising business. If you are not advertising, you are not being charged.
Insertion fees: Ebay charges a basic $.20-$4.60 to publish your ad. If you have an item starting at $.99 or lower, its $0.20. The higher your start your items or put your Buy It Now's the more you have to pay in insertion fees.
Added features fees: You can use added features to make your listings more compelling. $.35 for a gallery pic, $.50 for a subtitle, $.10 for using the listing designer to decorate your listing, $.50 to make your listing last 10 days, $20 for a featured listing, etc.
Final Value Fees (FVF): You are charged a percentage of your selling price. The percentage varies according to the price of the item.
Paypal Fees: paypal charges 2.9% of the transaction amount (selling price plus shipping) plus $.30.
Ebay also often has promotions to encourage sellers to list when the number of listings on the site is low. |

They have a fee just for posting it (per item) regardless if it sells or not. THEN there's another fee once it is sold. Remember, there's also another fee if you use paypal. |

Yeah ebay collates all the fees and sends you an invoice once a month. The fees depend on the value of the item you have sold. You pay a fee for listing the item that can be anything from free to about £2.00 and then it takes a percentage (something like 2%) of the final value of what you sell. It does all this through your paypal account.

Yes, only the months you sell and/or the months auctions end. Why would they charge any other time? A chart for fees (insertion fees, final auction value fees) can be found on their site map. |

if your item doesn't sell, you still have to pay part of the insertion fee.
i was selling something worth about 10-20 dollars that did not sell, and they charged me .30 cents, so its not that bad, unless none of your stuff sells. i wish you only got charged for it if it sold |

You pay a "listing fee" for any item you list whether you sell it or not. If you sell an item you will also pay a "final value fee" based on the $ amount that the item was sold for. |
