I have been using PayPal for over 5 years and it is very safe. Plus, you can use it on other sites as well. |

Paypal is 100% safe I've been using it since they started and have NEVER had an issue. I'd rather give my checking information to PayPal than send a check with all my information and account number on it to someone I didn't know! |

If you plan to do business on EBay, then Pay Pal is the best and most used method to pay for stuff.
Pay Pal works by debiting your checking account. No credit cards. It takes the cash right out of your checking account. Works great, fast, and safe. I have never had any problems using it. |

Paypal is safe. I have never had a problem using paypal, but please see my FINAL note below.
Paypal works.
First, you need to have an open checking or savings account with some money in it.
Next, you will need the routing number (the first set of numbers on the bottom of your check or deposit slip) and the account number (the second set of numbers at the bottom of your check or deposit slip) handy to complete your paypal enrollment.
As you follow the directions to get a paypal account, you will enter the information requested (name, address, your bank, your bank account info).
Paypal will ask your permission to "test" the information you've provided by making a $0.01 to $1.00 deduction from the account you've added.
If that is successful, paypal will let you know, and then tell you it's ok to use your account.
You can add money to your paypal account directly from your checking/savings account at any time. You can also transfer money from your paypal account to your checking/savings account, and send/receive money to other people/businesses with a paypal account.
A credit card is not required. But, you can add a debit/credit card, or any additional bank account numbers at any time. Whenever you use paypal, they will prompt you for the account you want to use, should you choose to add more than one.
NEVER, EVER, EVER login from an EMAIL that is addressed from Paypal. Should you get ANY e-mail from paypal telling you that your account info needs to be updated, close your browser, than reopen it, and go directly to paypal's website....www.paypal.com, and login from there. There is a lot of web phishing that may ask you to "click on this to update your info" from someone claiming to be paypal, but is only phising your bank account info.
Hope this helps. |

Paypal is pretty much a middle man. You give them your info, instead of giving the person your buying from your credit card info. I've used PayPal several times when I made purchases on Ebay and I've never had a problem.
You enter your banking info, set it up now beause it takes a few days to get the account set up. PayPal will actually make two small deposits in your account, then you will verify the amounts @ the PayPal website.
Once set up, when you buy something from Ebay just select PayPal as the payment method and it will walk you thru the rest.
It's very easy. Hope that helped! |

Dont have time to explain it but it basically takes money from your bank account whenever your purchase something. It is probably the safest method of transferring money online. It is safe to give PayPal your credit card number but watch out. There are some phony phising sites that look like PayPal but really arent. Giving them your credit card would be extremely foolish. So make sure you dont spell PayPal incorrectly and end up giving your information to Patpal.com. |

yes it is safe,,if you pay for something and you dont get the item,,just let pay-pal know you have not received item,pay-pal will refund your money,,pay-pal is like a electronic cheque which is paid by your email address which is recorded by your bank,,no you dont need a credit card ,,a bank card is just as goood,,yes it is safe to give your details to pay-pal,,its yehhhh a safe way of buying things of ebay,,,,but if you sell something and you get paid by pay-pal,they will deduct fees from your payment,,,so its better to be paid by direct debit when selling on ebay,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hope this help[ you |

Paypal is very safe if you are careful. Sometimes you will get spoof emails and they will ask for your account number and your pin number. NEVER GIVE THIS AWAY! The real paypal will never ask you for your pin number. So just watch out for emails like that. To start an account all you have to do is put in your credit or debit card number. If you use debit it will draft it from your checking account automatically. If you purchase something on ebay under payment method just selected paypal and then it will take you to your paypal account. from there you will have to put in your account name and password. then there will be a button that says pay and thats it. ive been using paypal for about six months and ive never had any problems with it. i even had to file a claim against someone on ebay because they never sent my item and paypal refunded me my entire $182.50. they have people answering phones 24/7 if you have any questions and they are very helpful. i hope that this answered your question. have fun with ebay and lke i said before as long as you watch the emails that you get, you should be fine as far as security goes. |

I have been using Paypal for 6 years and never had a problem. You give them your bank account information and they take the money out of your account/you do not need a credit card. |

Wow, you have a lot of ?s but thats a good thing. Better safe than sorry. I have been dealing with PayPal for over 5 years and here is my honest opinion:
Is its safe?
Very. PayPal is a secure site and they are very big on safety.
What is Paypal?
PayPal is an online payment system that helps you make safe payments to online sellers (Ebay is one of the main ones). The money goes from your PayPal account directly to the seller, so that the seller never gets any of your personal information. (name, credit card no., etc.)
How does it work?
You will give PayPal your bank account info (bank name, routing number, account number). PayPal will make a small deposit to verify the bank account, about five cents. Once they have verified the bank account, you are sent an email that says you are ready to do transactions.
Do you transfer money from your bank account to your Paypal account? If not, how?
Yes, transfers from your bank account to your PayPal account will take from 3-5 business days. You tell PayPal how much you want to move across accounts.
Does it require a credit card number? Yes, but you can get a PayPal credit card for free. It works like a prepaid card, you cannot spend more than what is in your account; there are no fees for a transfer from your bank account.
If it does, is it safe to give Paypal your credit card number?
PayPal does not need your credit card number, they will issue you a card that you can add money to from your bank account. |

Well, you got the answer to most of your other questions already. Lucky you, I signed up blind. Just followed the procedure and dealt with things as they came up. That's how most people have to do it, PayPal likes to be mysterious for some reason. Probably because they CAN, LOL ... if you want to do business on eBay, you have to have PayPal. Some people do without, but they do badly.
If you're just buying you can have a personal account. If you sell you must have either a premier or a business. Unless you're going to start an official business, I would suggest a premier account. According to eBay's rules, as a seller you are not allowed to say you accept PayPal as a payment method unless you can accept Credit Card payments through PayPal. And the only way you can do that is with a Premier or Business account. That's because the personal account does not charge you for receiving payments, the other two do. And they'll charge you a lot even if your buyers never use a credit card.
What I would suggest is get a personal account and a premier account. As a seller you are allowed to offer your buyers a discount if they pay via your personal account (without a credit card). A personal account has other uses, which you will find out in time. But (I think) you will need a different credit card and bank account for each PayPal account you have. The bank account can be a checking or savings, so most people can do it.
--edit--
If you have more questions you should just ask another, seperate question |
