When I first joined Ebay I had two negative strikes against me right off the bat because I didn't understand how it worked. Since then I've had 149 transactions (All positive) and I'm still no where close to 100% positive feedback.
DO NOT ever bid on something you're not willing to pay for. You will recieve negative feedback and ruin your reputation as a buyer or seller. Hopefully, you will be able to work this out with the seller. Good luck. |

Old saying, "When all else fails, read the instructions".
If you are the high bidder at the end of the auction, you are obligated to pay for the item. Now, you can simply not pay and wind up with a negative feed back attached to you account.
When you submitted your bid, others, that you out bid, were denied the opportunity to buy the item and the seller is now out the money he would have made on the sale.
Some time ago I bid on a Bowie Knife, when I checked back I did not find my bid listed, so I entered the bid again. Then I discovered that I had looked at an identical knife, I had actually bid on TWO Bowie Knives, from different sellers. I won both auctions. Fortunately, the amount of money was not great and I simply bought both knives. I'd rather do that then cheat someone, even by accident.
I don't know how much you bid on the sling shot, but it might be in your best, long term, interest to simply pay for it if you win it. |

when the item has finished the seller will send you an invoice , you can pay this with a cheque or postal order the seller will then send you the item.
If you have bid and no longer want the item. click on the help button and look up retracting bids. |

you can retract your bid, however they do require you to give a valid reason as to why you are retracting it. Go on the help menu on ebay and it will tell you how to do this |

you can retract your bid theres information about you have to search for it though. it's not recommended causes a bit of time for the seller and buyer though. wait for the email to come back form the seller and then sort it out with them. im sure they would know how to help you out. |

You can cancel your bid. Go into Help at the top of the screen. In the A-Z alphabet section click on C for cancel bids or R for retract bids. Follow the steps. You will need to know the item number so it's always a good idea to copy it from MyEbay first so you can paste it in. You did the right thing by contacting the seller. The seller can also cancel your bid if you ask them to. |

You don't need to pay, your bid should get retracted since you contacted the seller about it. People make mistakes, so i wouldn't worry. |
