Sophia,
you have most likely been hit by a Nigerian BIN bandit.
report the bidder as Attempting To Pay With Fraudulent Funds.
the ID will go NARU soon after. then you can file for your fees back and relist.
be aware of any emails you may get telling you they are sending you more money than the cost of the auction.
DO NOT click on any links in the emails! |

There's nothing stopping you, its almost certainly not genuine! You may get bad feedback though but people will see it and understand why! When you list again, make sure you put in it that they must have a confirmed paypal account and over (whatever you want) positive feedbacks. Plus you can go into sellers preferences and list pre-requirements to buy. Even if they pay by paypal there is nothing stopping them from making a charge back and taking the money back from their credit card company which is not covered from paypal! I've been stung like this before, you just have to trust your instincts and if your not sure play it safe. This sounds like blatant fraud! Your not a business, nobody will take you to court over this, take the neg feedback rather than get stung. Forgot to mention that even if you transfer the money and it makes it to your bank account, paypal can put your balance into negative and even reverse the payment up to a month later, refund the payment and request a cheque/postal order if they are genuine. I've delt with so many scammers on ebay, if you want more advice please let me know as I can explain how to spot almost any fraud now! |

It wont be genuine, I had a similar problem. You'll soon get fake paypal emails, ignore them they havent paid for it. File a complaint to ebay about them. Im also gonna see that they are prob gonna be in africa somewhere too. |

One more thing, its sometimes risky to sell mobile phones on ebay, you get alot of fake bids on em.. Mostly fake bidding comes from abroad, as someone mentioned before (africa) is one of the countries it tends to happen with..
Always make sure you get cash first and then post the phone okay.. |

Have a look at the link on Ebay's help board. It tells you exactly how to deal with this. Ebay will charge you sales fees so make sure you get them refunded. All the details are in the thread in the link. |

you can contact the buyer in any way possible, if you get no response report it to ebay as a non-paying bidder, they'll let you re-list the item after about seven days at no cost from the sale. you'll still have to pay the listing fee though.
Haven't sold anything for a while , so check it out with ebay's resolution centre and follow the links for non-paying bidders. Either way, DON'T SEND THE PHONE TILL YOU HAVE THE MONEY !!! thats the way it works, they pay, you send. Don't part with your phone till you have got payment through paypal, cleared their cheque( or check) funds into your account or recieved cash/postal order. |

If your auction has closed with a winning bid, you are obligated to allow the high bidder to pay for the item.
If they are, in fact, not genuine and do not pay, you can report them to ebay and re-list. That's about all you can do.
Unless you have a disclaimer in your auction stating you do not accept bids from ebayers that have a feedback less than a certain number, there isn't much you can do. Good luck. |

Tell them you wan the money in your bank for a month before you will send it or cash in hand.
DON'T think for a second that paypal will help you if the account has been hacked, if they stand to lose money they will claw it back from you which could be the full amount.
My pal lost £830 this way even though (he thought) he'd followed the paypal rules to the letter, hacked account and they got him on an increddibly small thing. |

E mail the buyer through your e bay messages. Ask him to confirm his bid. If genuine you have to wait the 7 days. More likely or not it's a game that some nut is playing.Report him if it is. |

Wait a suitable amount of time for the payment to be made if no payment is made file a non-payment dispute ,tell ebay you can`t agree ith buyer and they`ll give you your fees back. Then re-list. |

you have to wait 7 days to see if they pay, if not you have to open a dispute with ebay for an unpaid item , the problem here is even though you think it is not genuine if you go and relist the phone sell it then the first buyer pays for it then you are in the wrong, if you wait then open a dispute and you win ( which sounds like you will ) you can claim the listing fees back from ebay, but you have to give the buyer time to pay ( 7 days thats all). |

have they contacted you to make payment ?
ok it may not be real but, ebay rules say that after 7 days of end of bid you can report them as a npb non performance buyer. & then you are within your rights to relist & get your fees back.
I would advise waiting the 7 days & report as npb before you relist it. as you will get your fees back & the relist is free too.
you dont mention how much the phone is worth but here is a site that may give you more for it.
