I have visited 22 countries including Japan and I now live in Germany. I can tell you that the UK is the most expensive place to live and it will get worse. The Tories flogged off the family silver to keep the UK going and dear Gorden is running the country on higher taxes. People then don't have money, so they borrow it. The house of cards will come crashing down. Be afraid, be very afraid. |

Scandinavian countries have the highest tax levels.
It is actually cheaper for people in Stockholm to get on a ferry to Copenhagen, and party all night on the ferry, than it is to go out in Stockholm! |

The most expensive country in Europe is Denmark, followed by Greece.
The reason for this is that they base it on prices compared with wages. Although we might not find Greece expensive - we're not being paid 5 Euros an hour. |

Most of you seem to have forgotten that although for example Norway is expensive to us Brits and some other countries, the Norwegians don't find it so, as they have salalries to match. ie about 3 times uk. I have lived in Copenhagen and Oslo. The same applies to many other 'expensive' countries. Also the questioner stated, 'IN EUROPE' Japan and Canada are not in Europe. YET!!!
Carrie- I would put Denmark as the cheapest of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, not much more expensive than London. |

i have to say that Vancouver Canada is the most expensive same as japan damn you have to work Monday to Sunday if you want live good also the taxes are very high if you want quit to smoke come here the cigarettes are very expensive like 7 or 8 cnd (Canadian brands) and they are very bad the alcohol is very expensive too but the best of this is that the girls are beautiful |
