If you are not sick, don't tell them you are. That's the most cliche'd excuse in the book and even if you ARE sick, most employers won't believe you. If you're any good at sounding serious, tell them personal issues have arisen and you must attend to them immediately. If whoever you're talking to respects you one bit, they won't ask. If they do, you have every right to tell them that you'd rather not discuss it. Tell them that you're sorry that you can't make it but the situation does not allow for you to make it into work.
If you're planning on using excuses to call in all the time, quit your job. If you're going to call in, unless you work somewhere where no one's going to care, you'll get fired if you do it too much! |
