it was the craziest thing! there was this dog trying to cross the road. this truck moved to avoid him but his tire blew out. so he hit a power pole. the pole feel on another car and it caught on fire. the guy jumped out but his car crashed into my front yard and caught my tree on fire. then it fell over and caught those little bushes in front of my window on fire. i got the fire out and everything but my yard is a big mess i need to stay and clean it up. it gunna take alllll day sheesh! what a mess! |

I'd be straight up with them and tell them that you need a personal day off to take care of 'some business'. At Farmers Insurance, everyone is allowed one person day off without pay but without penalty either. |

If you are a homeowner, then it's the utility company coming to check on a wiring prob. gas leak, water leak.
Roof repair, water coming in at three places, new hot water heater old one is out, no hot water.
The only prob. with these is that if your coworkers come over and say "Hey Bob, I wouldn't pay a dime for that crap roof job you got last month... ha ha you get the idea. Plus just my luck my darn hot water heater will go out and then what lie do I tell?
What are you staying home for? Isn't it a good enough reason? The truth always has the ring of truth and a lie clangs just like a lie. Try the truth. Unless you are home cheating with the Bosses wife, or even worse daughter.

Well food poisoning is a very suddenly occuring disease that ends abruptly. For most mild cases you don't have to see a doctor but you are definitely out of it for a full day. Take an egg salad sandwich to work Wednesday. Mention that you're a little scared you might of left it out on your desk too long. You should start to feel poorly by later that evening! |

You were called in for Jury Duty, but you were not selected for a trial so you were sent home after 2pm. You cannot find the notice because you took it to the Court House, then lost it. Your Jury Duty ended due to lack of an assignment. Obviously you knew about Jury Duty well in advance so give them some notice. |

If you have any children, you can say that you need to take them to an appointment (like a doctor). If you have a animal, you could tell them that they got into some medicine (like Tylenol) and you need to take them to the vet ASAP. You could ride on that for day. Break a bone or two. Death in the family (preferably someone already deceased so you don't jinx somebody still kickin' it). Some type of STD flare up...lol. Car won't start, no access to metro, no money for a cab. Waiting for a phone call back from your doctor or a lawyer for something important. There are several more, but my brain hurts now. Good luck. Have an awesome Thursday! |

If its cold on that day say your engine froze
Or your engineer said its dangerous to drive yur car because the heater isn't working properly and could set fire
And then on the next day take your wives car and your wife can take your car, then say your cars in the garage and your insurance group gave you this one

Don't use a dead relative excuse please! That's horrible. If you are a dedicated worker then you should be able to get away with "I have a lot of things to do that can only be done 9-5 M-F so if it's ok, I'd like to take Thursday off to get some things accomplished and clear my mind a little." |

depends, you can always tell them you forgot about a dentist appointment for an extraction of. just make sure you look like your tooth was pulled out on Friday. Other than that, I'd rather call in on Friday.
