alot of good answers here and I agree Muscle weighs more than fat. Watch your appetite and drink plenty of water and don't give up on the gym. another great thing about muscle is it burns fat while your sleeping too. |

Muscle weighs more than fat. You can lose sizes and gain weight. Muscle helps you burn fat and increases your metabolism. |

Muscle is heavier than fat...so if your losing fat and gaining muscle it may look like your not losing or gaining. |

Either you gained muscle which weighs more than fat or you've been eating more thinking you can afford to now you're working out which isn't true. |

Because you are losing fat and gaining muscle mass. Since muscle is more dense than fat, you can actually get smaller and weigh more. |

It must have increased your appetite? |

Are you increasing daily calorie intake?
Are you eating well-balanced meals?
Keep in mind that toned muscle weighs more than fat, but occupies less space...I once did the Fit For Life program, only lost 20 pounds, but went down from a tight size 12 to a 5. Don't get uptight about what the scale says, if you're eating right and working out at least 3 times a week. Measure your progress by the way your clothing fits and how energetic you feel. Good Luck! |

Check your inches. Measure yourself and see if you're losing inches. You're probably gaining muscle-mass, but you're probably losing inches. Trust me, your new muscle mass will hold your existing fat up and you'll look and feel better even before you've lost much fat. Keep it up! |

If you are simply weightlifting without any cardio then you are gaining muscle weight. That's not a bad thing though. Muscle weighs more than fat so if you're toning up then of course you are going to gain a little weight. Dont base your weight on the way you look or feel-you can gain 10 pounds but look 5 pounds lighter. :) |
