Yes, it will stimulate the economy. As the price of gas lowers, so does the cost to transport items, which is usually passed to the consumer by raising prices. As the cost to transport lowers, the cost of goods will also be reduced, resulting in a price "lowering" war for major items that are not produced under a monopoly. As that lowers, so will other prices, therefore spending will increase, resulting in ahigher demand for items, which will result in more manufacturing and transporting, resulting in more labor, more wages paid, more income to be spent, more items purchased...the circle will grow until something again comes along and throws it all off balance. |

yes, it is a good thing if you want to increase 'favorable' public opinion. Good for the economy. Good for local politicians. Bad for the public. we're actually "happy" for paying outrageous prices still. cheap oil is not a right. but merely a generally accepted fact in this culture. (only in america is there an absurd ratio of cars to people per capita) |

I noticed today in Florida, the price for regular was $1.43 a gallon. Our Suburban takes the middle grade and it was $1.53. Instead of costing over a hundred bucks to fill, anything close to $85-90 looks good. It's a very good thing that prices are falling. It will help average folks quite a bit to save on their gasoline bill. |
