I got a letter in the mail, dated March 28, 2007, they said my name was attached to a ticket number ##### and that I won the 3rd prize category- a sum of $121,500. Inside with the letter was enclosed a CHECK in the amound $3,500. I called the number and the lady told me to send the moneygram addressed to MYSELF or a FAMILY MEMBER so that no one could touch it until the BIG CHECK is sent to me. I can't remember, but I asked where her home office was and I think she said New York, With my P.I. skills I learned that number was from Canada which is where she told me to send the moneygram to cover taxes, insurance and general winning surcharges. The number on the check was different that the paper, but they go to the same place. The bank the check is from is JPMORGAN Chase Bank, which I confirmed. I also confirmed that the account was real. I intend to do further investigate this. On the let I found similar scams, but why tell me to send the $gram to myself and not them? Can someone help? |

I think that it may be a scam. I recieved the same letter stating that I won a prize in the amount of 125,000.00 and that I needed to contact them before a certain date to claim my money. It also stated that I was a 3rd round contestant. I am not so sure but I am going to call the bank number and also the number that is on the letter. My letter came from Canada or was postmarked from there so we will see and I will check back on this site to see if we both have had any luck. |

I saw a tv show about fake checks. When you cash them you will get your money, but when your bank finds out that they are not getting paid on it in a couple of weeks, you will have to pay it back. The scam that I heard about gives fake money to make you think its legit, and asks you to give it back in real money. Then they disappear!!! |

I recieved the same check only it was for $2700.00 and I couldn't never talk too one. I called all numbers and got the same recording. I searched and searched for information on the internet and ran into your story. I searched for Wedico Inc. and there's an ad stating that Goodwill Lotto is scamming off their website and for you not too cash the check and that you would be apart of fraud. |

Hi, hopefully you have found out this is a major scam. I did the phone work that it took to find out. I called the 1-800-935-9935 number for jpmorgan bank and found the account does exist. However, was unable to verify funds due to not having an account. I called the number in the letter, and got some song and dance about the claim agent being busy until 6pm. I called the local numbers for the bank, and talked to an agent who informed me there are numerous people falling for this. The checks are not real, the account might be a legitimate account but you will never receive any more money from them. He said some of the checks cash, some don't. I am going to fax him my paper work from this so he can turn it over to the "Fraud prevention" in his branch. That banks fax number is 1-956-982-7622. I would suggest you all do the same. Where as most of you were cautious enough not to fall for this, there are alot of people who believe what they read. Its is your responsibility to help stop things like this when you can. I am sorry to all of you who thought this was legitimate. I hope it wasn't too much of a disappointment. |

Well, I got the same letter on 4.14 as well, and it had the same info, except the check was for a different amount, and I called and verified the funds are available- the check is real, but the number on the letter is what threw me, no one answered that line, so of course, I still have some leg work to do, but I will keep posting as long as I find more information. |

Do not cash that check I brought mine into the bank today to have them check it out and they called jpmorgan chase bank in texas and the numbers on the check are not real account numbers its a scam and they are turning it over to the IRS and FBI. They had me going I thought I won money |

Also received same letter in Indianapolis IN. No answer when calling the number. Screwed up and deposited check into savings, letting it stay there until find out resolution to this. Anyone have any advice now? |

I reicieved the same thing 121,500 winning prize they told me the same thing. but didnt tell me where to send the 2,900.00 so now i'm thinking its a scam and cashed the check and don't know what i should do. i dont want to be part of this scam but cashed the check and was gonna send the money threw moneygram but the lady didnt tell me who the reciever name. if anyone knows more about this please help me out. |
