I am an artist and I have quite a few pieces piling up around the house I would like to sell. I don't have time for an artshow or going through the submission process to get displayed in an artshow. I am a full time grad student. And I would like to painlessly make some extra cash with my art.
I know it is sell-able because I have sold art before for a charity art show and did rather well.
SO I was thinking about using an Ebay store to sell my items for me... I know they take a percentage of the profit... but I think it would be a pain trying to find boxes to fit the canvas and wood I use to paint on. Plus since I am so busy in grad school it would be easier to have someone else do it for me...
Before finalizing this decision I wanted any opinions ... whether or not an Ebay store is a good idea, etc. since I haven't used one before.

I have friends who have an Ebay store. Not a bad idea . . . however, Ebay charges fees for everything! And commission rates differ from one item to another. It's very confusing and ends up costing a chunk of the price. Try www.gvartauctions.com --listings are completely free! And there's basically no charge for anything unless your piece sell (and commission is a set rate and very low).
The creators are artists too and want to provide an artist friendly comunity |
