I have several times. Almost all of the people who slept in the same house that was built in 1826; have either heard or seen her. In doing a historical search on the family that built the house; we found the picture of the lady haunting the house in their family photo album. We used to see her all of the time between 1975 - 1979 from then on it tapered off. Her grandson of whom she was close to (when she was alive) died early 1975, which was the same time that the haunting started. The family graveyard is behind the house on a small hill. She died in I think it was 1926 or 28. The room where she was seen most often, was the same room she slept in (which just so happed to be my room as well).
She did not glow or any of the other crazy stuff but was more of a shadow like figure. Almost like a translucent regular person, she wore 1900s’ sleeping attire including a bonnet. She never harmed anyone or did anything scary besides just walk up the front staircase and stand at the end of my bed. The only really scary aspect of it was the noise of her shoes walking up the wooden staircase had a very weird sureal echo. |

I haven't seen one, but I've been in haunted places. I even think my house used to be haunted by a woman, I'd hear high heeled shoes walking around during the night....not crazy either haha. |

Yes, I have and they don't look scary, they don't chase after you or vomit all over themselves or scary things like that. They look like you are I would. I think people are afraid of them because they do not understand.
There are many places where ghosts have been seen especially places like Gettysburgh and there is a hotel I believe it is here in Arizona or in Colorado and they have what is known as a ghost walk. The spirit of a woman can be seen walking around on certain days at certain times.
I think for the most part, ghosts are souls that are lost, sometimes they are wanting help with something, and like someone said they are also angels. |

I seem to have inherited some type of gift/curse from my Mom where I am very sensitive to certain things, tend to know things before they happen a lot and seem to be a magnet for "ghosty" type occurances. I've seen and heard a lot of strange things over the years... minor things like doors opening and closing by themselves, I'd leave the kitchen and cut the lights off to return minutes later and find the light on and all the cabinets standing open. Up until a few years ago the freakiest experience (which was witnessed by three other people) was my daughters Barbie doll spinning about on the floor by itself on and off for about an hour. I had only experienced these types of things up until my ex-husband died a few years ago. For about 6 months after his death I had one mind boggling experience after another... just too many to go into detail. I awoke to him standing at the foot of my bed about had a heart attack.I tried to play it off thinking it was a dream. A few days later I had gotten up on a Sat morning to see my hubby (2nd and hopefully last) off to work. I was wide awake and just laid back across the bed to watch TV. It was only few minutes when my bedroom door opened and closed. I thought my hubby had forgotten something so I just said"what did you forget" No answer... My back was to the door but I wasn't alarmed quite yet. I felt someone sit on the side of my bed and I could actually see the sheet pull across my leg. Then I smelled cigarettes. My hubby had quit smoking so I turned my head a little to see who it was and I saw a hand coming towards me which I immediately recognized as my ex's. I jerked my head around and caught a glimpse of him and screamed like a crazy woman. Then he was gone... Finally I had the most vivid dream where it was almost like a section of it opened and he stepped out. We had the nicest conversation and I knew in the dream that I was asleep and that he had come into my dream. He told me to quit screaming at him everytime he tried to contact me because it took away his energy (go figure). He said he needed for me to deliver messages to several people. Which I did... the weird part is that his Granny had the same dream that night also... I had one more experience with him and he told me that after that he wouldn't need to bother me anymore but that he would always be around to keep a watch on our daughter. I passed that second message on and I have never heard another peep out of him. I am no longer scared either. Since then he has visited my daughter a few times. My grand daughter was 9 months old when he passed and she is 6 now. When she was about 2 she starting talking to someone and she would always say it was "Pawpaw Wayne" He passed before my grandson was born. He is now 4. When he was around 2 we were riding down the road and out of the blue he told us that Pawpaw Wayne told him that Pawpaw Ron had come to meet him. Ron had been sick but we found out when we got home that he had just died. Talk about being freaked out! I promise none of us are crazy!! |
