As my bank and I have something in common were full of little pr*cks I have not received any money from them yet.
However with all the money I should make next year selling signed books I'm going to open a bank account in the isle of man and not pay tax.

yes they always refund mine if i ring the morning the charge shows and transfer the funds into the account..mind u depends if u get someone nice or not! |

one day after the letter, i phoned them and had it sorted out. 41p I was overdrawn and I had a £125 charge put on my account!!! |

I am just about to try and claim my bank charges back, my partner knows a few people who have done it and they got it back about a month later. try the website below it explains the best way to go about doing it and what you should do if you have been waiting ages. |

No!! Bank charges is where they make their money!! I called a bank line once, asked them to refund my Charges, the staff Agreed to do so! Then the next month i get a statement with the charges NOT refunded but extra interest charged for the unpaid charges!! I rang again - they did nothing! i had to pay everything! |

YES! I have actually had a couple of charges refunded. The truth is that "all fees are waivable" and you usually just have to ask. It's best if you can deal directly with a person. Make sure to catch them off guard on the phone by asking how their day is going or something. They'll realize that it's not "just another phone call" and they will appreciate it. Make them feel like you're in a bind but that they are really helping you out. I do all of the accounts payable where I work and sometimes we have to slow-pay because of cash flow. I am able to waive or reduce at least 9 out of 10 fees from various companies and banks - literally hundreds of dollars in fees per year. Give it a try!
As far as time after sending a letter, it could be between 2 weeks to 3 months before any action is taken. Best luck! |

Sorry, yes I have, it was a long time ago now, but I got overdrawn, which was actually my own fault, but as I had been with the bank for years and years, and it was the first time I had ever done it, I went into the Branch, and told them that if I didn't get a refund, I would close my accounts as I had a couple of thousand pound in another account, waiting to put a deposit on a car, but they didn't know that. Anyway, I got my refund and they done it immediately, whilst I was sitting their.
They can't be allowed to charge £15 for being overdrawn by 7p. Its a disgrace.
Stand your ground and you will get it back, if you are not in a habit of doing it.
