Yes, it was not done by a magician and it is not what people tend to picture it to be. Some moron does not sit there and wave something in front of your face and tell you that you are getting very sleepy either :D
I was in a nice room and I was asked to lay down and make myself comfortable. I was told to focus on something that was relaxing to me, there were pictures of nature, and there were flowers and nice things like that. WHile I was focusing I was told to breathe in and out slowly and deeply until every limb of my body was relaxed. then I was told to close my eyes and visualize myself to be wherever it is I wanted to be. I was hypnotized to relieve mental stress. :)
You are basically so relaxed and you are filtering the bullcrap out of your mind so that you can tap into your subconcious. It is the coolest thing . The professional slowly talks you back to "reality" and you come out of feeling so calm and relaxed, it is awesome. You would be amazed out how you can find the solutions to your problems.
Everyone has their opinions of what it is like or how it feels, but I thought it was great. |

I tried to allow myself to get hypnotized but it didn't work. I have a problem trusting ppl and I couldn't let go. I don't know if it would work or not, but, if it's for something like quitting smoking or something more noble it would be worth a shot I guess. |

Yes, by a therapist. People are actually in a hypnotized state of mind several times throughout the day, for example, when you're daydreaming. |

Yes. It is very cool. You know everything that is going on and are awake like normal. But you want to do what the hypnotist it telling you to do, that's all. You can stop any time you want to. You can break out of it if you want to.
Some people can be hypnotized more easily than others. These people are lucky since they can go to a hypnotist to get help with problems like smoking too much or weight issues. |

Yes, and it was one of the strangest experiences of my life, I wasn't told to do stupid things like magicians do. I had my therapist do it to find out what was bothering me. And I woke up on a couch on the other side of the room. |
