Have you ever been friends with someone because they don't have any friends. And now you'r STUCK with them?

I completely agree with James D and think he should win "best answer". While I've been in your position, I've also been the person someone was "stuck with". Of course at the time I didn't know that's how they felt and when I found out about it, I felt horrible. You do need maturity and I'm guessing by the way you asked your question, you're a kid or teen. Be patient. You never know who's life you're touching by being their friend. Perhaps they have a horrible home life, are abused or suffering some other injustice and you're the only bright part of their day. Think of things that way. When I'm frustrated with people, whether it's "idiots" who are driving "wrong" or people who have more than 10 items in the checkout line when they're not supposed to, what helps me is thinking of how they might have had a bad day and don't even realize they're irritating me. One day my daughter got into a horrible bike accident and it was going to take the ambulance to long to come pick her up. I instead drove like a complete maniac to the hospital. Cut people off, broke probably every driving rule there was. I know several people flipped me off. What they didn't realize was that my 8 year old daughter was laying in the back seat going in and out of consciousness, had a severe head injury and a very obviously shattered arm among other injuries. At the time I didn't have a chance to worry about it but afterwards I realized that maybe on those days someone was irritating me, they might not know it or had a legitimate reason for what they were doing, as I did once.

You never know, one day your "annoying" friend could be someone who saves you in a way you never imagined. Or like I said before, you may be saving them.

Talk about sympathetic! What a sacrifice you've made, risking your all-important social standing and potential popularity to allow this pathetic creature to be associated with you. Why, they should be grateful you even talked to them at all, right?

Maybe someday when you finally grow up, you'll realize how unbelievably callous and unfeeling you're behaving now. Of course by then, this person who you're dying to distance yourself from will have moved on to a place where they will actually pity you.

But it's not too late to change. Don't abandon this person--give them a chance to show you how important friendship really is. Then you'll have begun to really grow up.

yea! My now best friend had no friends and im stuck with her! I cant even be with my other friends!

Yes I have.Then you become there only friend and they bug you a lot,Cause your there only friend.Don't be cruel to them,But you tell him/her that you don't have time to be with them all of the time.Maybe don't answer your phone every time they call.Be nice but set your own bounders for your self.

Try "see ya wouldn't wanna be ya".
Actually some of us have been in the reversed situation.
Glad to be accepted in a new school or whatever.
So if you feel stuck, or OBLIGATED now, then you may need to help this person to find other interests, hobbies, and maybe help them to make new friends....So u r not "stuck" with them all the time.
And the greatest thing about friends...not our closest friends...but you know THOSE FRIENDS...
THEY COME AND GO.
Or you could just be NOT REALLY AVAILABLE ANYMORE.
ie. MOM GROUNDED ME.

or YO BRO MY CARS DEAD I GOTTA TAKE THE BUS...

yeh... slowly drift away from them and hang out with other friends more and more often, it worked for me
