My rule of thumb is to not hold a meeting when you can communicate with the group by email; not communicate with one person by email when you can phone; and not phone when you can talk to a person face-to-face. However, there are times when you need to forward a document, or write the person next to you a note for information or future reference that does not require interrupting them at that moment. Another rule of thumb is to not expect an email response in less than 24 hours. If you need a response sooner than that, phone or see them in person. |

Yes. Smiling...have done it when I'm bored or just in one of those moods where I can't help but be annoying. Anytime I've done that I've just been messing around in someway. It's always been some sort of message that would get a reaction of some sort out of the person I sent it to. |
