Yes. Though it was completely unfounded based on their perceptions of the situation. But that's probably what you are going to hear. The good news is that I never received another one, again!
Ha! Plus I outlasted the person who had drawn up the disciplinary action in the first place. Hmmm... |

Once my direct supervisor was written up for something he was responsible for & so he decided to lash out and write me up (sorta pass the blame sorta thing). To bad for him, the company protocal was for any write ups to be approved by the GM b4 discussing with the employee at fault. He thought he could get around it, by putting it in memo format rather than the proper paperwork.
So instead he got written up for not following company procedure. |

Oh man. I just got back from being suspended for telling my boss to stick it. I got written up by him, had meetings with BOTH of his bosses. Had to crawl back and apologize. At first I felt justified and angry, but,,, it is just part of being human and working with people. Now I know that, regardless of wether I was wronged or not, my arritude is reflected back to me. So I am having a positive attitude regardless, and am being treated positively back.
Goes around, comes around and sometimes it is just plain hard to rise above the situation, but is definatly worth it... |

Yup, I work in food, and found a hair in someones food, naturally I threw away the sandwich, washed my hands, changed my gloves and made a new one.
My boss was angry because I wasted food, and a pair of (cheap) disposable gloves. |

I have been written up three time. First time was because I did not take out the FOC (friend of court) for one of my employees during payroll and the second time was because I did not follow office procedures per the VP and the third was a written warning because I made an invoice for .03 cents. My boss thought it was a bunch of BS but she had to follow the orders of upper management. So since then I'm on a 90 day probatation and my boss is going crazy checking all my work now but we laugh all the time about it because I'm known as the trouble maker. |

plenty of times. my boss was a complete douchebag. the kind that would get pissed if you left at exactly 5:30. even though that's the time you were supposed to get off. apparently he never said anything to me about it so everytime I left at that time, he'd mark it down. eventually his boss came to me and told me how I "wasn't being a team player" since I was leaving early everyday. |

yes i was wrote up one time for not calling in when i was out. my understanding if you're wrote up 3 times you loose your job.your place of employment might be different. good luck. |

I have not gotten written up, but as a manager I have had to write up people. I hated doing it, and only did it when I felt forced to by the employee. I was surprised at how often employees would make excuses for their actions, even when I had warned them repeatedly that what they were doing was not acceptable. I don't know the details of why you were written up, and it could be a mean boss who is unfair.
Remember, in most situations, there is one boss and many employees. Each employee has their own issues, but there has to be some sort of standard set to keep fairness in the workplace. Many people only see a job from their point of view, and don't realize how impossible it would be for a manager to cater the entire work experience to each employee's needs.
Don't feel embarassed or take it personally. If you want to show the manager they were wrong, do the best job you can. |

I was written up for taking too much time off....I told them, well if you let me change shift with someon, I could work the night shift and go to the doctors during the day......but noooooo, they wouldn't hear of that.
So when they wrote me up, I tore up the written notification infront of them and told them what they could do with it.
They fired me on the spot.
I sued them and got a nice chunk of change for my bank account.
And now they are under new ownership.
Seems like I got the last laugh on them.... |
