I'm sitting here with the check in my hand. 2,980.00 from Southern Welding supply in Savannah Ga. I just returned from my local Credit Union and they told me it is a scam. I had a hunch it was due to the Canadian stamp and postmark. I have and do play PCH on-line but the fact is if you've won something and it's legitimate you will NOT have to pay anything to claim it, Just your signature. In this day and age of Internet fraud any fees required would be waived until the prize was received. I mean think about it, If you won "Publishers Clearing House" and they sent the "Prize patrol" to your door are they going to jerk that big novelty check out of your hand and tell you to go down to your bank and dip into your saving!? And all these scams are based on the assumption that you even have a Bank account. Bottom line,....If you receive anything like this with a Canadian stamp and postmark (Harborside Financial or not) BE Suspicious! Don't get taken. |

yep.....its a scam. As someone mentioned, just cash the check and wire us the money for handling fees to get the $47,000. What these b@st@rds are preying on is some people who receive this fake check will have the $3000 in their account. So they deposit the fake check and send the requested funds and later find out the check is a fake. (after you have wired them the requested funds). In this case Southern Welding Supply was a victim. |

Yes I received a $3020 check and called the number and it was disconnected. Then I called the local number which I thought from the letterhead was in Stamford Conn. was actuall in Ontario Canada. No one answered the call it only allows you to leave a message for TOM MILLER. My letter says I won $250,000 dollors as a 2end place prize and to call to process the rest of my winnings. Also the check says its from MORGAN STANLEY GROUP and it drawn on a CitiBank account. Very fishy. |

yes and it's a total scam let me tell you now not to even waste your time...I got the letter a few days ago and i got exited then i called the number they gave me (905-920-2721) and she told me that i had to cash my check then send it to somone named Rachael Adams in Quebec then she would give me a code then i would have to call her back and she would set up a comercal were they would come to my house and give me this big check for $47,000.00 then my boyfriend noticed that the stamp on the envelope is from Canada and the adress on the letter was New Jersey. So he went online and found all these respones about it. If you don't believe me google Harberside Financial Services! |

I also just received a check for $2890.00 I called the contact from the letter I received and she stated that I needed to cash the check and wire the $2890.00 to some Tamara Peters in Quebec and that Tamara would give me some sort of code id or number and I would then have to call back the person from my letter and give them my code. Once that is done, I would have 2 officials from the lottery deliver my $47,000 to my door within 3-5 business days. I asked the question of what if I don't wire the money? Would I be enrolled into some sort of program, but she didn't have any info. She stated for me to contact my "sponsor" which is the person issuing the check. I am going to call this Southern Welding Supply, Inc in Georgia and try to get some answers. This seems very fishy. Especially since I didn't enter any online sweepstakes. |
