How old are ya is important. you can mow lawns, help your older neighbors, walk pets. if your old enough for a job look at grocery stores and find your temp to hire companies. they hire you for jobs either for temp or for perm. gl |

Do you have lots of old clothes and stuff- ask your parents if they want to have a garage sale and you could sell some junk you don't want anymore. |

buy/sell things on ebay. look for things that are underpriced, and sell. |

Given the babysit, I am assuming you are young - possibly too young for a 'real' job. So, ideas:
1) More babysitting. Go to the library with your parents and hit up mothers. Especially effective if you have red cross safe sitter certification.
2) Caddy. Many states have loosened child labor laws for caddies. Check out the local country club. Also a good way to earn college scholarships. Child labor laws don't apply to the rich, I guess.
3) Offer to do services for more people than just your parents. Make sure that they are people your parents know and trust (for safety reasons), but you can mow lawns, do gardening, clean, or babysit. Autumn lawn raking is coming up soon!
4) Sell your old toys/items in a garage sale or on Ebay.

Try doing promotions. You can find them easily online or try craigslist.org. Some of them pay pretty good (14-20/hr) as you can find weekly, week long, weekend and holidy promotions. It takes about 2 weeks to get your check, but some do direct deposit and you get it back sooner.
If you are too young (i.e. under 16), then can I suggest collecting cans from neighbors. There is a group of teens here that collect cans from local grocery stores, businesses and neighbors. They make enough to donate toys to a family each Christmas and for the last 3 years, they had left over to take a trip to Cedar Point. |

How old are you? Be careful what types of situations you put yourself in, it is soooo dangerous. Maybe mow neighbors lawns, as long as your parents know, don't ask this kind of thing on the Internet. You are setting yourself up for child predators. |

You can look online for temporary or permenant jobs, try this one if you're in the UK: http://www.monster.co.uk/
If not, then maybe a paperround, or just hand a cover letter and a CV into as many shops as you can- even if they say they aren't recruiting, give it to them anyway so when they do need someone, they have your number.
Spread your name around as much as you can for the babysitting- try making some cards and putting them into newsagents and giving them to friends- people generally listen to reccommendations made by other people who have used babysitters. To help improve you could also take a babysitting course (there are some online) to make people more prone to using you in the first place.
Some other ideas are to get creative- make good quality handmade cards and sell them, or if you have any talents try and use them, for example jewellery making as well.
You could also try clearning out your room and asking others to do the same, then either ebay the items or go to a car boot sale! Otherwise, just keep asking people about jobs around the house or anything they would like doing.
Hope this helps, good luck! |

write up a nice ad and post it in your neighborhood grocery stores. They have bulletin boards for that kind of stuff. Also, ask your local church to spread the word that you are looking for jobs. Get a couple good jobs and do well with those, and word of mouth will go a long way in getting more jobs. |

someone above mentioned selling stuff on e-bay.
That's a great idea for someone that has time. You can purchase body jewelry in bulk, like a box of 100 navel rings, for about 5 cents per piece of jewlry, and then resell them on e-bay in a pack of 20 pieces for a dollar a piece.
I thought about doing it but I just don't have the time to worry about it right now... |
