I am going to babysit 2 kids, one in 1st grade and 1 in 3rd. I live in the neighborhood with them, so I can walk to their house. I live in Maryland.

The polite thing to do is let the parents decide on your pay. But if it's lower than minimum wage, leave the kids and go get a retail job :p |

To be neighborly I would say: $30 from 5pm until parents come home.
To be professional, I would say $40-$50 for 3-4 hours.
But, if the kids are a handful, then I would charge more than $30.
If they are good and quiet then $25-$30 should be good every time. |
