BBC is a British publication- if you are looking for laws in that area you should probably specify.
In America you have to be 18 to serve alcohol in a restaurant -Waiter/Waitress You have to be 21 to pour/create- Bartend. I believe barbacks (those who do grunt work for Bartenders) can usually be 18.
So at 14 you would have to either be a waiter and have somebody else deliver your drinks to your tables or look into another area- such as hosting/ bussing tables/ etc... It's still good training for when you come of age.
Good Luck! |

I don't believe that is legal. Most places you have to be of legal drinking age which is 21 but it may depend on the city and state |

depends on the regulations in your city and state. In some places if the person is a family member there may be some discretion as to appropriate age, but usually in the states (you mentioned pub so I'm guessing UK?) you must be at least 18, usually 20 certainly 21.
Check with your government office that covers that sort of thing to be sure. Better safe than sorry and all that! |

No honey you have to be legally 21 everywhere in the United States now they used to be alot more laxed way back when, but if you get caught serving alcohol..your cousin will loose his pub license....you can work in a resturant, but not a bar... |

16, but every alcoholic drink you sell must be authorised by someone over 18. At 18 you can serve it on your own. |

In England you would have to be 18 to serve and sell alcohol.
In a restuarant you can wait on tables at 16.
In America you have to be 21. |

firstly "ANCERS" should say "ANSWERS". I always thought that you had to be over 18 to sell alcohol behind a bar. |

I work in a supermarket, I'm 17 and I'm not allowed to sell alcohol on my own. Probably the same in a bar but we operate a strict policy on underage drinking. Though, it is very unlikely that you can serve/sell alcohol and if an undercover police officer buys from you (and they do), the bar might lose it's license (it's called "on license" because the alcohol can be consumed on the premises) and you might face a fine of 80 pounds on scene and 5000 after appearing at Magistrates' Court. |

well since the drinking age is 21 and up I would estimate to be able to work at bar you have to be at least 21 and up. |
